Where was this 'Hobbit Hotel'and did it have any round doors? Cool Smilie
That is so Cool Smilie
Did it have really, really low ceilings?
It was in a little place called "Asten" in Holland. And no, it didn't have any round doors, but a prancing pony (again, no joke) as a sign.
Cool Smilie hotel, Tommy!

How's the sandwich though, any good? Maybe there issss a use for Ssssam after all...
LOL that would serve him right Smile Smilie

In our town there's called a cafe or restaurant "The land of the hobbits" Or something like that.
Now why can't I live in a place with such wonderfully named restaurants & pubs? Drat. Sad Smilie
That's awesome. Wish they had one of those in New York.
Hell yes!

I could use such one in Zagreb... Smile Smilie

Errr... Wary Smilie has anyone of you ever heard of elvish hotel or sth?
I would like to see that one Tongue Smilie

Well Tigiel, I always imagined an Elvish hotel to be somewhere in Vegas, filled with bloated men sporting funky sideburns & flashy white suits. Animated Wink Smilie
Big Laugh Smilie
Yep, I can exactly picture that, Ungoliant. Very Big Grin Smilie
D@mn! Golly beat me to the Heartbreak Hotel gag...
Tee hee! Getting slow in your old age, eh?
Give me a break, I was offline for a week, I missed the window...
Yeah, yeah, excuses...

Btw Tigiel, I've stayed in a couple of Orc-like hotels on some of my previous projects. Tiny, gloomy rooms, thin mattresses, surly maids and snarling receptionists. *shudders*

Of course, I didn't feel so guilty then about stamping my muddy site boots all over their floors. And jumping into straight into bed in my filthy jumpsuits. Served them right. Tongue Smilie
Yes, that's just the right atitude, Ungoliant. Ha Ha Ha Smilie
Go for it! Very Evil Smilie
Big Laugh Smilie

Now where did Boring get to? Sad Smilie

I have a dream of building myself a hobbit-house.. I just love Bag End in fotr. I'm studying to be an building engeneer, so in a couple of years I'll hopefully have the know-how to build it.. At least I'm hoping to build a play-house for my children (if I get any), a whole house will be too much i guess.. *sigh*
God, I envy my unborn children, that can't be good? Wink Smilie
Know how you feel Ama...know how you feel Wink Smilie

Oh boy oh boy oh boy!!!
I found a place for my (human size) hobbithouse!! Right next to the house that most likely becomes my boyfriends house when he takes over his grandfathers little sheep-farm. It's what's left of a small stone house before they tore down half of it (including the roof), but it has great potential. (It's used to store potatoes now Wink Smilie )There is also a possible spot for a hobbithouse a bit further up on the property, but I haven seen that one yet. I'm so excited!! Big Smile Smilie

I have HUUUGE plans for that house, it'll be so nice and cosy inside! Of course this may be years and years ahead in time and might not ever come true, but it'll be an obsession with me untill it does. Both his and my family (including my boyfriend) will probably think I'm insane, but I think his little sister might think it's a cool idea too.

Ahh.. wouldn't it be just wonderful??
No responce...
Does this mean that nobody except me likes the the idea of a hobbithouse? Sad Smilie

Fine! I'll just sit here in my little corner and plan my hobbithouse all by myselfe. And none of you will be invited for the grand opening! And when you see my house in all the papers you all be sorry and wish you had responded to my post! But you didn't! So there! Mad Smilie

Nah, just kidding. Wink Smilie
But a tiny tiny reply would be nice..
I know this might not count as a reply since I already knew about it, but I like your plans Ama! I guess this means I'm invited to the grand opening? Elf Winking Smilie
Yes you are my friend! I'll get back to you with the date. *hehe* Wink Smilie
I live in such a borng place!
hey it would be kinda fun to be a hobbit! you'd get to eat alot and get a couple presents every week (hobbits birthdays) and you'd have an excuse to be fat!!! ahhhhhh...... the life of a hobbit!!
oh yeah and you'd get to smoke without it hurting your body and all that other nasty crap that I'm never goin to get into to!!!! Smoke Smilie

You mean I need an excuse to eat everything in site?!
Welcome to PT HH05! Waving Hello Smilie
I'd really be at home in a hobbit size hotel, lol.Good idea,I wonder what sort of Lord the Ring Lover would go so far as to do that, though.
Welcome to Planet Tolkien HobbitHomie05,home you enjoy being a member as much as I have 'n' stick around. Smile Smilie
Hobbit Hotel, hobbit sized dwellings, hm. I once saw a hobbit door (perfectly round, and leading into the side of a hill, too!) -- When I was on the cross country team in high school we used to run by it during training. // Speaking of temporary dwellings for hobbits, there is a section of my old University's campus housing called Middle-Earth, where you can choose to live in a dorm building named "rivendell" or "hobbiton" or "mirkwood", etc. I don't think the doors are round, though....
Wow,
thats cool! Where was this university? And what was the name of it?

By the way--i was wondering why most of the previous replies are dated 1970? Question Smilie
There are some so-called eco-houses in Britan somewhere, that are dug into the hillside. Only the front windows and door is out of the hill. They are not round, though... Sad Smilie The point of the project is that such houses do not need additional heating or cooling, but keep a nice 20+ degrees all year around.

I'd rather be an Uruk-Hai, or a Balrog. Then I could eat whatever/whoever I wanted to at any time I wanted to. Bwhahaha, nobody tells you to diet if your made from flames and shadows!
Yeah, Halo, but what would u do when u'd have to face an Echtelion or, even worse, a Gandalf?! I bet u'd die to be a Hobbit then!
Very Big Grin Smilie

Yes, but then of course if Halo was the Balrog, she would have made sure not to get in Gandalf's way.

That is because this thread actually comes from the "old" PT forum, and after the update, the old posts all got dated "1970". I only know this because I had to ask it myself. Tongue Smilie
