I can understand what you're saying, so it's not just you (although i didn't notice it straight away), and i can't say that PJ's adding suspense cos almost everyone knows what happens. But i'm thinking it's playing up the fact that there is a really serious war about to be pushed over the edge and it's showing how it could affect everyone, and no one is really safe from the evil that is brewing. That's just what i think anyway. Wink Smilie
I agree that PJ overused 'fake' or 'assumed' deaths.

Are we to expect a ressurrecion of Haldir or even Boromir in ROTK?

That would be wierd! Big Smile Smilie
I noticed allong with all the other disrespectful changes to the book. The Two Towers has more than ennough action and suspense without him needing to go on an ego trip and add his own poorly written sequences.

Lets hope not. (that would be like something out of a horror movie - and a bad one at that)

I didn't have a problem with most of the deaths, but the Aragorn-falling-off-a-cliff-presumed-dead-but-not-dead thing was a bit much.
