I wouldn't mind betting that it wont be Gollum who falls into the fire with the ring. I think PJ will want to make Frodo more heroic. Frodo will cast the ring in to the cracks of doom, but Gollum will have to be involved somehow. Maybe Frodo will be almost overcome by the rings power, but then Gollum runs up and tries to take it. Frodo is reminded of what the ring can do to people and he regains the will to destroy it. Gollum jumps after the ring and dies. Sam and Frodo are rescued by the eagles....etc.
Figure that's like the book. Big Smile Smilie
I'm with Plastic here. Why else would they put Arwen in FotR already? Smile Smilie
will gollum bite his finger off? I really want to see Frodo Nine Finger... (and did he swallow it or spit it out, can it be reatached with a bit of middle earth/movie magic?)
I figure he swallowed it. Not much protein laying around in Mordor and he was probably quite hungry. You might say it was the last meal of the condemed. Or you could say that on their final parting, Frodo got back at Gollum by giving him the finger. Big Smile Smilie
The finger must have ended up in the Cracks of Doom, so I guess they wont be able to re-attatch it.

Maybe they can give him a new one in Aman?

Good one, Grondy!

Why shouldn't Gollum bite his finger off? It's just a small detail, to please the fans... Can't be hard to live up to that, cannit?
Well I was disappointed that the scouring was not in the film. Its an important part of the story. It shows the hobbits coming of age. And dealing with an evil which has infected the shire with no help from men, elves wizards or dwarves. But RoTK better end with the ships sailing to the undying land and I think a nice touch would be, Bilbo
singing Bilbos last song.
Seeing PJ's way of portraying these films my money's on Sauron recapturing the ring turning MInas Tirith into a theme park called Arwen Land and Gollum becoming King f Harad.

Moderator Smilie (Grondy say's just in case PJ ever comes on this forum he will know Ross doesn't like his movies without being subjected to name calling. Let's keep it civil Ross.) Moderator Smilie

I feel much better now.

I liked it, my @rse was beginning to hurt by that point, and if they'd had to go through all that it would have been too much.
