Whatever happens, overall, I`m sure I`ll be fine about it. Even though there`ll be all those mistakes, all those replacements, Legolas...SIGH.... Wink Smilie ,what else? Hmm...I know, any new hot actors. Big Laugh Smilie

Well I enjoyed the films even though I knew the story. I think it's better to know the Tolkien LOTR before the PJ LOTR.
Yes then you do not get the twisted reality of Tolkien....you can easily spot out Saurons minion PJ!!!
I don't know yet.
Worse.
It may be the best of the three...
Pete Jackson says it's his personal favourite, so I say probably better (if you liked the other two at any rate)
Depends on how far PJ takes this changing stuff stuff.
I think it will be a good movie, I liked the other two and I think I'll enjoy this one also.

It will most likely have big changes though.
I have no idea but I can`t wait to see the film, literally! Big Laugh Smilie
I think it's going to be the best of the 3, just because of all the cool things that happen in the 3rd book, (such as the battle of the pellenor fields, battle at the black gate, shelob, cracks of doom, crowning of the king...etc...the list goes on). Can't wait to see it either!
Wiggle Smilie
Better or worse? I think it depends on whether you liked or hated the first two movies.

I think it will be more exciting, more spectacular and take more time to watch, does that make it better?

I think the chances of changes to the plot are also very high, so I guess that wont be so good. Sad Smilie

Well, if its longer that means that more stuff won't be left out!
For various reasons, ROTK certainly has the potential to be the best of the bunch, and I'm betting that it will be. Also, since PJ has stated that ROTK will be the film that is most like the book, I have high hopes. As long as PJ and Co. approach ROTK with the same kind of integrity (in terms of staying as true as possible to the original story) as they did with FOTR, we should be in good shape.

You think? Surely it means more space to add in yet more not-quite-dead people, and Arwenisms.
Well could be, but I hope not!
I`m hoping it will be as good as the last 2. If not, then I`ll be disappointed. I tink the last film should be one of the best, because it`s the finale. Smile Smilie
remember return of the Jedi people, that's all I have to say as my final word of warning.
It`ll be alright. I`m not going to worry about it know. We`ve got another 10 months yet. Cool Smilie
I think that ROTK will be as PJ wants it to be....not ONE good movie....but it will be a part of an excellent movie(note that I didn“t say trilogy...because I see it as one movie as I see the books as one book).....I have had my differences with PJ before.....and I want to say that I have grown wiser when I stop think about the things he did not do according to the book and see it for what it really is....a MOVIE! books and movies shall never be the same....and if they were it would be catastrophic.....(not really but you know what I mean)....
Ross is unleashed! Super Scared Smilie
Bring it on! Just come and bring it on Ross!!!
I“ll still be Aulė the king Bad King Smilie

Hahahaha just joking!
Better.Because we'll then say farewellto the movies and wish it was again year 2000 and we were waiting for them and see how they would come out...I'm really waiting,if there's to be one,for the Hobbit. No matter who's the director....
It will be sad when all the movies are over Sad Smilie
Do not weep Stonehelm....because think about the DVD!!!!! There is great power in those discsBig Smile Smilie
The only thing is, when the films aren`t in the pics anymore, (Oh, and a couple of years after that.) if we watch the film over and over again(DVD and video) it will wear out. Then after about a couple of decades, the films will be really rare and only the luckiest people will end up with the last copies. Sad Smilie Very Sad Smilie

I`m bying a load of copies for in the future in a couple of years. Big Laugh Smilie Always take precautions. Big Laugh Smilie

But then some new tecnology will come along to replace videos and DVD's and your spare copies will not be compatable with the new machines (like all the Vinyl LP's of my favourite records that I can no longer play).
Val, you can still get Vinyl players, it's the only reason the superstar DJs shouldn't all be rounded up and shot. I own 4 at the moment, and listen to pretty much all my music on Vinyl.
And these are not movies that will ever become rare and hard to find, the Star Wars trilogy is over 25 uyears old now, and you can still get them.
Also, as long as you look after your discs, DVDs shouldn't ever wear out like VHS does, playing them has no degenerating effect, as they are read with a laser, rather than dragging tape over heads that slowly clog up with dirt, and magnetise and erase your movies.

Don't waste your money on piles of DVDs Sheryl, just take care of your discs.
The only thing is, is that I carefully looked after my DVD and it wore out because I kept watching it over and over again. Mine wore out in a month.
The label side of the disc is the part of a DVD or CD that needs to be taken care not to scratch as the data is written between the label and the plastic.

This shouldn't happen Sheryl, you may have been sold a faulty disc, the only discs I know that deteriorate with wear are CDRs and CDRWs, which are of course used by the pirates. (or I suppose they'd be DVDRs and DVDRWs in this case) and generally, as long as your player's in good nick even they run fine if you don't stick those bloody stupid paper labels on them.
Don't know what you did, unless you're like my girlfriend's 11 year old son who claims to have kept something very carefully despite my having seen him throw it at his sister constantly, and then say "It wasn't me!" Wink Smilie heh heh heh...

Uh oh.....I think Ross is gonna have something to say about that!! But I, for one, like the differences between movies and books.....to a certain point anyway.

Let slip the Ross of war!

Hahahaha just joking!

Turncoat, It's a good job you added the just joking! Tongue Smilie

I don't think it will be worse I think it will be as equally terrible as both the other films. The man has no skill at direction (I could use Bad Taste as an example Plastic), his story diversions are just t*** and the fact he quite obviously hasn't read the books leads me to conclude that you will all be disapointed when it all turns out wrong!

Maybe one day I will remeber to hit the recieve email notifaction button!

the best i hope, but i doubt it could be better fotr
I`m not sure, it could be the worst film I`ve ever seen, but there again, it could be the best! Big Smile Smilie
50/50 chance.
Yep, I`m just hoping that I don`t finish the book before I see ROTK, bc then I can enjoy the film, instead of editing it in my head! Wink Smilie
I am sure you will finish it in time!
NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It`ll spoil it, I`ll never get over all the changes, I won`t enjoy the film for what it is....Ahh...Stonehelm...I`ve just realised 2 things, At the rate I`m reading LOTR, I won`t get to the beginning of ROTK. Also, you`ve read the books so you`ll suffer among many as well! Elf Sticking Tounge Out Smilie
Actually Sheryl....I have already read them but I didn“t think that it got spoiled.....I mean he did leave out alot of things and replaced it with some ****.....but it made me ponder on why he did so.....so it didn“t get spoiled but surprising!
Well, that`s alright then. As long as it doesn`t make you seem extremely disappointed, I`m okay.... Big Smile Smilie I have to say after reading the first couple of chapters I wasn`t disappointed about FoTR.... Big Smile Smilie I was glad about that, so, if I get it finished, then I don`t mind!
Well I think it is fun to have read the books before the movies....because my friends always asks me what is that? and who is he? etc etc...but I enjoy that because it makes me feel like they look up to me for that moment and that I am the master and I am in control....I get a little Morgothish thinking Very Evil Smilie Like I explained who some people are and stuff in StarwarsBig Smile Smilie it“s fun!

True, true... Wink Smilie
Hmmm...I just wonder how will they do the ending of the film...but I still don't like the changes...but who knows...I think it will be good!...though...I have a worry in my heart Tongue Smilie
Hello Lordioren! Welcome to PT!

I am sure that there will be changes. We will just have to live with them!
And Peter Jackson has said the third film will be more like the book than was the second. So we can at least hope everthing will turn out all right.
Grondy, I hate to burst your bubble of hope, but he is still going to do alot of crappy things....like I heard that Aragorn was to fight Sauron and that Saruman will die in Isengard!

None of the movies has really been based on the books.....he just took this world and twisted it in his own sense of what is LOTR....so what we see in the theatres is his version (how he sees LOTR) and that proves his dementia!!
I also think you should know the Tlkn. L.R. before you see the PJ LotR. I had already read LotR, but when I went to the theater, the prologue amazed me and the scenes in Moria with Aragorn and Frodo trapped on the broken stair had me on the edge of my seat. OMG! This isnt in the book! What's going to happen?! I was scared ********. The movies can still awe and frighten you even if youve read the books. Like the Black Riders. *shivers*
I have to be the biggest woss in the world, I HATE scary movies, but during the other LoTR films I kept my eyes open and didnt hide under my scarf or shirt! Even though I knew what was going to happen from reading the books, I was still startled when PJ changed things.
I can't wait for this one to come out! I'm so excited, but I'm not sure it will be as good as the other two. Just have to wait and see...

Well, so far almost all the cast members who've been interviewed said that ROTK would be the biggest, best movie of the trilogy, so we'll find out if they're right when it's released.
