Tomorrow evening BRANN is playing in Bergen against EVERTON in the Uefa cup Smile Smilie
I'll cross my fingers for them to win ..Brann that is Smile Smilie)
To enlighten every member of PT: Brann is playing fourth round in the Norwegian League this weekend. Up till now the results have been ever so-so-so'n' so!

But Man U are going for the big WIN!
Wednesday night Mexico beat China 1-0 in an exhibition game before a Seattle crowd of 56,416. We will have our own Major League Soccer team, the Seattle Sounder FC in 2009.

(The NBA just voted today to move our Seattle Sonics Basketball Team to Oklahoma City after having played here for 49 years, just because the city and state rejected building them a new 400 million dollar arena, in which to play and make their owners even richer. Good riddance.)
BRANN won this weekend 2 - 1!

But MAN U was hit by Chelski???!!!!
Ha HA. Finally after 9 years we have finnaly made it to the UEFA C1 finals. Congrats to Scholes by the way. WHAT A GOAL!!!!!!

Plus, all the hospital expenses from his near fatal ankle surgery Pixie Smilie

To be honest about the whole Ronaldo argument, if you sign a contract and originally agree in the first place to be there for a certain amount of time, then you should stick to it... Fergie is made to look like the bad guy because he is purely showing the contract that Ronaldo signed at the beginning of his career with Manchester United... One amazing season doesn't make you King of the World to do as you wish... But he is still one amazing player, I applaud him for his success Orc Smiling Smilie
Absolutely correct Loss. He's one greedy guy. But let's end the topic here as i'm tired of hearing this everywhere. Dunce Smilie

WELL DONE MAN UTD! Orc With Thumbs Up Smilie
Yesterday England thrashed Croatia 4-1 in Zagreb with 3 goals from walcott, two being set up by Rooney, and he him self scored 1. Hope they continue on this form.

Raffy and Mellon will be pleased to know tha Scandinavian countries performed well with Sweden wining 2-1 against Hungary, Finland drawing 3-3 with Germany, and Denmark beating portugal away. Well done! Orc With Thumbs Up Smilie
BREAKING NEWS: Finally Rafa Benitez was able to explain his last year rotation policy:

Rafa Benitez has just defended his squad rotation policy explaining that it keeps the burglars guessing who'll be home on match days.

That's all for now, I'll keep you informed if I get other news.

I'm ever so grateful that Norwegian results wasn't mentioned. I bet we'll win every international championship, in Ludo that is!
We are following English soccer-teams, hoping the Reds will get a triple this year! I'm also wondering if anyone will buy Chelski!
We finally have a major league football (soccer) team starting this year,Jumping Flame Smilie the Seattle Sounders FC (which stands for football club) and Drew Carry is a part owner. So far they are 7-3-1 and play an away game against the Toronto FC Saturday.
Been a long time since I last posted here but things have gone rather well. Man Utd has won the title for a record equaling 18 times and has also completed their second hat trick of titles. And we have also reached the final of the C1 again.

Oh and Shaktar Donesk has beateb Werder Bremen in the last UEFA Cup final t Istanbul 2-1!
Poor Man-U. Orc Sad Smilie

We now have two professional soccer teams to root for: our local Kitsap Pumas football club as well as our regional Seattle Sounders football club. Wiggle Smilie
Yes Grondy. In all the time I've watched United play the final against Barcelona is the worst ever performance I've seen!
Was the fix in; were they hung-over; was their water tainted; or didn't they just give a damn? Elf Confused Smilie
Well, yesterday with a 2 to 1 win over Dallas, my MLS Seattle Sounders FC ended their first regular season 12-7-11, which was good enough to make the playoffs this year. They currently stand second in the western conference to Los Angeles 12-6-12. And they didn't do too poorly in their exhibition games against some of the major European teams this past summer.
Well my Seattle Seahawks aka: Sea-Turkeys American NFL football team again had little offense and even worst defense so we lost today to the Dallas Cowboys at Dallas and their referees 38 to 17. We play the Detroit Lion next Sunday.

However in real footie, my MLS Seattle Sounders FC fought to a 0-0 draw with the Houston Dynamo in the first Western Conference Semifinal in Seattle last Thursday. We will play them again in the second Western Conference Semifinal in Houston next Sunday.
Well, the Seattle Sounders FC were beaten 1 to zip by the Houston Dynamo Sunday 9 minutes into an overtime period, so the Dynamo advances into the MLS Western Division finale and the Sounders are done for the year. Still the Sounders' record of 2-1-2 against the Dynamo in their five meetings this year wasn't bad for a first year club. Did I mention Drew Cary is a minor owner of the Seattle Sounders FC.
So, Sunday I watched lowly Real Salt Lake win the Major League Soccer Championship Cup over the Los Angeles Galaxy in a penalty kick shoot-out 5-4 after playing to a 1-1 tie after the regulation 90 minutes and a 30 minute overtime. The game was played in Seattle with 45,000 in attendence, but I watched it on TV. Poor David Beckman only got an assist as he hobbled around on a sore foot the entire game. I'm your typical American, because I also hate low scoring tie games and penalty shoot-outs are like kissing your sister. Yuck!!!
You also may want to read the thread The Official Footie Thread That thread was started after the 2010 World Cup won by Spain over the Netherlands. For that World Cup thread, see The Official World Cup Thread. Wiggle Smilie
Thanks Grondy!This place is nice.
JUST WAIT TILL THE SEASONS STARTSmile Smilie

And what makes it official? Elf Sticking Tounge Out Smilie Do you have moderator controls over it like the Council does? Orc Grinning Smilie

I'm not being a wet blanket here, you may keep those threads as designated. Happy Elf Smilie
Both the threads are fine to me.
But i guess this has been around longer.
As long as we are talking football..I don't care if we have a thousand threads.
More the merrierSmile Smilie

I found  this video on youtube some time ago while looking for some funny stuff. It's o LOTR/World's Cup parody. You'll love it Wink Smilie

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7B2LPxggvqY

That video is Epic.

Haha, I love it when it says 'BUT THE FELLOWSHIP IS BREAKING FROM WITHIN' and there's a shot of Gandalf looking in annoyance and slight despair at the guy blowing the vuvuzela. Big Smile Smilie

This is kind of out of season to comment but I loved the video ever since I first saw it, thanks to Thorin.I love it when at the end a guy says"Gandalf man,you ruined my vuvuzela...no wait it's working"kiss

Don't remind me about Africa. Please. It was so unlucky, and a total joke. England were so unlucky with that.

Does anyone miss the Vuvuzela? I do...

Oh how I LOVE LOVE LOVE this thread! Been a while since I was here and I miss you Cheesy  It's just plain sad that Man U is out of the season this year.

Yeah, they've been pretty poor this season in the league and the cup! And to think that they blew up an 8 points lead over City! Sad Smilie

PS: The Vuvuzela is a plain horror! I hope to never hear one again!

Are your national teams going to visit to Poland (or Ukraine) for EURO 2012 this year?

No my country is not anywhere in the football picture. We just dig cricket Smile Smilie

Thorin: It's good to see around here Smile Smilie Yes sad business about Man U but there's always a next time. And I don't want to hear the vuvuzela again either. Oh my poor ears XD

No Indis, neither am I. I live thousands of Kms away from Europe! I will however be watching the matches from home and cheering England on!
