*big big hug to Vee*

No, you really wouldn't want to know. Besides, it was private information. Very Big Grin Smilie
Hope you're having a better day today Vee, keep your chin up! Happy Elf Smilie
Not really but thanks for the thought.

Today we took our cat to the Vet fo find she had a massive tumour in her jawbone. No treatment recommented except the inevitable.

So we said goodbye to her.

I'm not happy.

Sorry, to learn about ur beloved cat, Vee. Sad Smilie It happened with me too, V but after sometime i got over it, though sometimes i still remember my dog. be strong and dont feel too depressed V , life's like that.
I'm so sorry V. *hugs* Sad Smilie
Iím sorry to hear that Vee, my sincere condolences. Very Sad Smilie
Anytime we have to have a family pet put-down, it hurts us; even when we know they will hurt more if we don't.

I inherited my mother's cat Sheba, who subsequently contracted cancer of the kidneys. She got so weak and was so much in pain that I had to have her put down. I think I cried almost as much over the loss of that cat as I did when my mother died. Mom was 82, in very ill health, and had been ready to go for six months when the Lord took her, so I felt it was a blessing. Her cat was only about 13. This happened about five years ago.
Awwww... Sorry to hear about that Vee... I know exactly how you feel... Very Sad Smilie
Vee,

I am so sorry to hear about your cat. I had to do the exact same thing with one of mine a few years back. Black Mama had multiple tumors in her mouth and was not able to eat and they were causing her mouth to bleed, were very tender and made it quite difficult for her to eat, thus she lost a lot of weight. It was really difficult to watch her go down hill as quickly as she did. I am thankful that it was a rapid degeneration and her suffering was not long and drawn out. When I took her to the Vet Clinic, the doctor took one look at her and said the nicest thing we could do for her was say our good byes. I cried all the way home which was a 45 minute drive and took her to my momís house and buried her in the back yard there. I do have something else to be pleased about; we still have 2 of her babies, Dumb-Dumb Kitty and Dax. They are approximately seven years old, and so every time I look at them I can see her. Dummy looks like her and Dax has her personality

I also have another cat that has the same or similar problem and she also lost weight for a bit, but we took her to a different vet and they tried to actually treat her with medications. The tumors have not gone away, but they must not bother her any longer, because she has stopped drooling everywhere and is getting to be quite a butter ball, and her fur is so smooth and shiny. She is once again beautiful, is eating and playing, however if her symptoms return I am afraid that she will meet Black all too soon for my pleasure.

Grondy,

I was very sorry to hear about your mom and Sheba. At least it is not a recent loss, and neither is suffering any longer. I love Shebaís name. We also have a cat named Sheba; she is a tiny little thing that looks like she is carrying around a small melon in her belly. She has the fattest stomach for the size of the rest of her body. She just had a birthday in January and turned 10 years old, a sweet little thing that snores so loudly, that she can shake the windows in the house.
Thanks for the thoughts people. And I know this can bring back memories all too raw.

Mellie - sounds very much how it was with Mindy (Yes, Mork is still around) but the tumour was aggressive and her kidneys were aleady affected. She is not an easy cat to treat at the best of times and medication was not an option - too far gone, too difficult, too old - she would have been in more pain from us administering the medication. And it wouldn't treat the tumour, just lessen the secondary infections.

There was a lot of drool recently and blood - we thought she had cut her mouth or maybe had a stroke. Poor thing.

Anyway, the two other cats are fine and healthy. I think they know she is not there any more - they keep wandering around , in and out, more than usual.

Thanks again.

Life continues........

Oh our poor kitties and us poor owners...
We got our family cat (TÝfflus, named by a living slipper on TV!) when I was about 6 years old and had picked out a kitten at my grandfathers farm and cried my eyes out when someone else came and tried to take her home. When we came home from vacations (my other grandparents and neighbours used to look after her), she had quite often run away and would only come back if I went looking and called for her. She got a nasty cut on her tail that never got better so the vet had to cut her tail quite short, so we nicknamed her 'the lynx'. When she was nine she got breast cancer. 8 years of birthcontrol pills for kitties will do that to a cat. Sad Smilie If I had know I would have forced my parents to spay her a long time ago.

She got a open wound or tumor or something on her belly, it didn't bleed but looked awful. She looked and acted fine, but we couldn't let her live like that. We buried her in the flowerbed under a tree outside our house. I put a rose on her grave on her death day the two following years. November 15 I think. I almost cried while writing this casue she was such a wonderful cat.

Grandmas farm has always had cats, then long after two were born who grew up to look exactly like her. It was so strange to see. My sis almost cried when she saw them.

I've got a cat now, Blackie (all black), she is spayed, got ID tatoos in both ears and a reflector(?) collar (so the car can see her in the dark) with an ID-tag and has all her shots, and she is not allowed to die. Though I know she will eventually, I want to have as many good years with her as I can.
Awwwwww. HUGS for Amarie and to everyone who has lost a pet.

*big hug* to Amarie! Very Sad Smilie

You nearly got me crying again, every time I hear a story like this I think about my own cat, who is buried in our garden as well. Very Sad Smilie Heartwarming thought to know he's still so close though.
my cat just disappaerd,im not normally a cat person but if all cats wer like him i wud
Cheshire cats disappear... bit by bit...... I know because I am one. But that wasn't what you meant was it, Ar?

I hope you cat comes back soon. Cats often disappear for days and wander back expecting dinner. Fingers crossed for you.

In the post today I received a very nice card from the Vet's just saying they had been thinking about us at this time... Nice personal touch, I thought.
Ok, I have been bawling my eyes out since reading all of these responses to about Vee's poor Mindy. I have so many other stories that I could add to this conversation, but i do have a lunch date in a few momentes and already have to redo my make up, So, I believe a change of subject is in order.

I am lonely!!!! I miss my Smaug. He had to go out of town this morning for work and will probably not be home until Saturday. I know it is not far but he is all the way up in New York City, hand he had only been home 2 days from his trip to Alabama. I did get to talk to him on the phone for a few moments after the plane landed, but this house won't seem as warm as normal tonight with out him around. I love and miss you, Sweetheart.

Mellie
Poor Vee! I will pray that it goes to kitty heaven. (I'm not being sarcastic, I honestly am not)

Aww that was beautiful! *wipes tears form eyes* That is where our kitties are for sure, they deserve the best! All the kitties, big and small, deserve the best!
And I will second that! Lovely text, really is. It says it all in a few lines. Thumbs Up Smilie

Smaug? Nice nickname! Big Smile Smilie lol So if all went well he should be home again today! *big big hug to Mellie* (missed you, by the way, wherever you may have been hiding Animated Wink Smilie )
Tommie, can I have a hug, too? Stoney, Is your collosle sholder open? Is anyone here to hear my sob story?
*big hug to Crystle Caves*

Come on, Crystle, tell us the story. (if you want to, of course)

I just want to say I'm absolutely drowning in work and have actually no time at all to spend here, but I do so anyway. Tongue Smilie

I come in here very carefully...*looks about*...you never know what might spring out at you!

Yes, CC, ole Stoney's always here to cry on...just don't rust the armor please. Animated Wink Smilie
I'm here too, Crystle, if you need something; I hope you feel more cheery soon.

Waving Hello Smilie
Our cat has disappeared. Gone. Missing. Left. Nowhere to be found. We searched him everywhere, inside the house (even though we knew he went out) and outside. Everywhere. He's been gone since Monday. This is the last thing I needed. *sob*
Sorry for your cat Tommie . Orc Sad Smilie I have an record of disapiring pets too.
So sad. So sad. *boohoohoohoo! My friend and I keep having fights, and I don't like it. ILt's so sad. We never say sorry, we just assume it's okay the next morning. Except that SHE tells her mother all sorts of nasty stuff about me, and I have to go to her house every Tuesday, and her mother really hates me.
Sorry to hear about that Loni... Maybe you should talk about it?

It's the first time one of my pets went missing, and I suppose that should mean I'm a lucky person, but I keeping hoping he'll come back and everything will be fine. Because in the past that was what always happened, no matter how nasty things would look, it would always end up fine. And now in about a month's time my cat died, we adopted a new one, and now he's gone missing. I don't know what's happening to me. I miss my precious... *boohoohoo* I should stop talking about this, it only makes me feel bad.
Hey guys and gals. I've been forced for some time to post something here by Vee and Ayan. There isn't much to post except that I'm still alive and doing well in India. Life is fine here. The weather is hot with occasional rain. It will still be a long time when I'll be able to visit here more often than now but we can still look forward to that. Nothing else to write. I'm missing this place a lot. Will be glad to be back here sometime. All right then, keep enjoying and have lots of fun no matter what. Ciao ppl!
Good to hear from you lill bro Smile Smilie
Shiremail is acting strange, SMS to India doesn't work and exams are killing me, but once I have failed this last exam tomorrow I'll write you a long e-mail about what is going on in my life... well I may have to make something up since there isn't much news, but it's the thought that counts... Wink Smilie

Hey there is some news! Just got the box with all 3 lotr DVDs I won! How could I forget that? How nice to see that my brain is working so well befor the exam. Tongue Smilie *blah*
Forced!!!!! I don't force..... I persuade gently. Anyway, good to see you posting, even just the once.

And congrats on winning the DVD, Amarie!
DVDs, in plural. There is a link in the Party Tree (Forsaken inn) *brag brag* Wink Smilie
Yes LA86, your poster- and calendar girl is also the best looking elf in Norway! Wohoo!! (which of course we already knew, but now we have proof as well.)
Arrrgh.. exam tomorrow, nervous wrech, I know a little but I don't know enough. Got no one to blame but myself. Bad bad student! And now I'm sitting her infront of the screen, again. Hopeless is what I am. Or fed up with studying for exams is more true, this is the fifth and last befor the summer. Even when I know that cramming the last few days befor is not enough, that is all I have done. Hopeless hopless hopeless.. oh well.. Not the end of the world, just annoying.
Aaaww!
{{AmariŽ}}

Use a derivation dummy to chase Stokes, Green and Gauss down the path-integral and into the L={ō} Or just partial-differenciate them so bad not even the Jacobi-determinant can puzzle them back together!

*Taylor-developes a piece of bread, then Fourier-transform it into chocolate cake.*
*Use the Lorentz transform to place cake in Ama's frame of reference*

You'll be fine girl! Big Smile Smilie *crossing fingers and toes*

I'm sitting trying to figure out which of the stars doesn't belong to the globular cluster by looking at their "error" in a colour-colour diagram. It's 27.8C in my room. My instincts tells me to open the window wide open. But outside it is 29C.... *melts away*
well, i dont have to worry about school and exams anymore... not until august, at least. my school decided not to do exams this year, though. Too bad. I could've used the grade

*scratch scratch * *rub rub*
ARRRGH!! i scratched my eyelid with an eyeshadow pencil and it HURTS!!!!! its making me angry!!!Angry Elf Smilie

Just turn it in a way you can do the exam on a later date... heh i did that on Tuesday. Thought i was going to die but... now i am going to die a bit later, i guess. Anyway, good luck. At least you are finished with your exams tomorrow! Some ppl are still being tortured by 5 exams before the so-called 'holidays'.

Coming to think of it, i wonder what the effect of the Euros 2004 (in football) will be on my motivations to study for my exams... i remember what happened during the WC in 2002. Not good memories. I have better memories of TTT, even.

I believe it was Stokes. Tongue Smilie Well anyway, can't get any more boring than that. Unless you put in a Riemann or Ostrogradsky. At least their names weren't that boring.

Well if you want to become the best looking elf in Scandinavia, you'll have to surpass Santa's Christmas Elves! Wink Smilie Maybe i could try to win something as best looking Orc. Hmm, or should that be worst looking Orc ?

Hehe, this is my second try, didn't have the foggiest idea what to do the last time. Wink Smilie There is always the 3rd and last try, but I was hoping I would make it this time, not quite as clueless now.
Good luck with your exams Ama! Happy Elf Smilie
Thank you! I'm gonna need it. Tongue Smilie
I got my first rejection from a magazine I sent a manuscript to. Weird Tales was not interested in my short story. Ahh well, I have two other manuscripts out there, and I am sending three more out next week. Hopefully one of them will be accepted.

Keep trying, Stoney. I sent a novel off to a publishers several years ago and gave up after just one rejection. Everyone told me not to give up, but it's hard after a rejection to actually believe anyone will accept your work. Whatever you do, don't get disheartened like I did. The very best of luck to you.
Don't give up Stony!

Exam done an there is actually a chance that I did ok. Thank heavens for the example in the book. At least now I have a small hope! Now I am happy happy happy happy singing and smiling cause it's over and I'm freeeee!! Big Smile Smilie
Good luck Stoney! Don't let them get you down! Orc Grinning Smilie

Yesterday was the worst exam day in my short history. Started at 8.30am, stopped at 5.30pm and only one miserable non-exam hour for lunch inbetween. I can assure you I was pretty much dead by 4 pm. *sigh* Oh well, that's over, thank God. Over to the next exam, next Thursday. Super Scared Smilie
Thanks for the advise, Val. There's no way in Udun that I am giving up. Writing is what I want to do as a career and I am going to keep at it till I make it.

Glad the exams are over for you Amarie and good luck to you next week Tommie!
Thanks Stoney!

Ahhh. Enjoying the blessing of a new, speedy computer. *sigh*
Such a silly thing - my son saw me cry this morning, just a few tears over nothing...... I said I wished someone would cook for me for a change and it just got to me. Paul never cooks unless it is cheese on toast or he has to because I am away and then it is veggie spag bol or fajitas. Or he will order take away which isn't the same.

"Mum, are you crying?"

Just a sniffle.....
{{Vee}} You should train him better. Birthdays coming up? Give him a cooking course as present. He'll come home, wanting to show off what he can. Wink Smilie
No, he won't. Trust me.

The day just gets worse.......
