5) The person asking cannot give too directs hints.
6) Whoever gets it correct asks the next riddle.

Hi Beowulf. Welcome to Planet Tolkien. You riddle games sound like something that could be played quite nicely on a forum such as ours. I'm not very good at riddles myself but I'm going to have a guess at your anyway. As I'm likely to get them wrong, there's plenty of scope for others to have a go after me.r I struggled with this one, but I'm guessing Shadows. I'm pretty sure this is a Rainbow. Again, difficult for me, but I'm guessing the answer is History.

That was wierd. Did you move this topic, Grondy? I could have sworn I entered it in the Writer's Guild and stepped out of it in the Forsaken Inn.

The tricky bit in your riddle happens at the end when you add what the clerk has to what each man paid. The clerks $2 is part of what each man paid and should be taken away to give the price of the room: 27 - 2 = $25.

If you want to know what happened to the original $30: well the hunters have $3, the hotel has $25 and the clerk has $2.

It seems my third riddle is a bit too hard, so here's an easier wording:

I tell who is wanted, and who is lost.
I never lie, but don't trust me.
I won't take your soul, but I'll hold your past.

I guess we need someone to go to the library and check out a riddle book (or to 'google' us up some classic riddles) so we can have more fodder to chew upon in this thread.

They waited until a passing Spanish trawler, illegally fishing within the island's 12 mile territorial waters spotted them and took them home (possibly locked in one of their numerous hidden fish holds).

Failing that, the two 50kg men would have to row home. One would then have to row back the island (assuming no S&R helicopters are available). The 100 kg man would then leave the 50kg man on the island while he rowed home. Once home, he'd give the boat to the other 50kg man who would then row back to the island to pick up his 50kg friend.

There's a wolf, a donkey and a cabbage on one side of the river, you have a boat, and have to get the 3 to the other side,though the boat can only hold you and an item(or thing/animal) . But if you leave the cabbage with the donkey, it'll eat the cabbage, and if you leave the wolf with the donkey, the wof will eat the donkey.

How do you get them across?

Another riddle?

Here is one of my favourites (quit easy):

You have five glasses on a line: The first two are filled with water (F), the last three are empty (E). How could you obtain the following pattern by making just one move?

E - F - E - F - E

I think,('cause i heard a riddle of this type before) that the boy is wearing a red hat.

Because, the boy at the back can see the 2 others, so if he saw that they had blue hats on, he would have called out red. Since he didn't call out red, the front boy knows that he isn't wearing a blue hat, so the other choice is red, so that's what he is wearing.

I would guess she should palm a white stone before she puts her hand in the bag. If when she show it as the one she pulls out and the evil money lender complains, tell him to let her father view the then contents of the bag, which he won't want to do for it will show him as the cheat he is.

However, being evil, the old money lender reneged on his bet and foreclosed on the mortgage, and the beautiful young girl became an old washerwoman in order that she and her father could eat.

Heres one of my favorites, its not hard once you know the answer but ive gotten a few people with it.

A man is walking through the woods on a path, he is trying to get to the village of truth, he comes to a fork in the road, one way leads to the village of truth, where everyone tells the truth, the other way leads to the village of Liars, where everyone lies, he sees a villager from one of them standing at the spot where the path splits, what one question could he ask him to find out which way it is to the village of truth, regardless of which village hes from?
