To Ross: If you haven't already bought the Ring, then don't! It is one the worst thriller/horror movies I have ever seen, it's not scary at all. Thumbs Down Smilie

What?? It scared the **** out of me, I couldn't sleep for nights after I'd seen it!!
Another scary movie is The Gift. *shudders* I've always liked those movies with ghosts and when you don't really see what happens but have your own imagination playing with you. My imagination makes the worst horrormovies, believe me!

When it comes to action there is only one movie that rules the rest... Boondock Saints. Nothing beats it.

Science Fiction: gotta say the Arkiv X movies. Talk about special effects! Big Smile Smilie

General movies: Pirates of the Caribbean! Big Smile Smilie Love it!

Humour: Nothing will ever beat Monty Python. Just one comment: "My brain huuuurtss" ok, so it's from the MPFC, but it still counts Big Laugh Smilie

You have made a wise decision Ross! Smile Smilie

Aire; I agree with you on MP, they make me laugh, not always, but I like them. And do be careful when you watch horrormovies, you might hurt yourself Wink Smilie

*sighs* It can't be that bad.
Plus, me and Farfenhooger are going to watch it together, so we can be scared together!

Ross' top ten:

1 Leaon
2 Shawshank Redemption
3 Empire Strikes Back
4 Carlito's Way
5 The Life of Brian
6 Return of the Jedi
7 Star Wars (a New Hope)
8 Planet of the Apes (Charlton Heston Version)
9 Fight Club
10 Dark Crystal

This made me laugh because when I was younger (about 6 or 7 years ago? I always saw the Dark Crystal. Everytime my family went to the public library, we had to rent it.

And Silence of the Lambs? I'd like to see it but... my parents are still a little strict. I read all 3 books though. Big Smile Smilie They were... gory/funny/captivating. But this isn't a book thread. (IS there a book thread? Sad Smilie )

Oooommmmmmmmm. Wink Smilie
Yah, Schindler`s List is quite sad,it is one of my favorite movies, very well done and so is Shawshank Redemption.
And then there is Ran ,a version of Shakespeare's "King Lear" set in feudal Japan where aging ruler, Lord Hidetora, unleashes a power struggle amongst his three sons, possably one of the saddest movies I have watched,I give it 4/4 stars.
Fea
I'm a Matrix freak. I also like Star Wars, Memento, LOTR, Gladiator, the James Bond series (not Die another Day) and many other movies which I cannot remember.
hmm old ._.

on the moment, the Matrix movies
OK, let's see if I can put together a top ten:

1. Leon
2. Fight Club
3. Donnie Darko
4. The Shawshank Redemption
5. The Ususal Suspects
6. 2001: A Space Oddysey
7. Pulp Fiction
8. The Draughtsman's Contract
9. Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon
10. Bladerunner

That about sums it up I think.
OH yes I forgot to say that I loved Dead Poets' Society...Wonderful film in my opinion Big Smile Smilie
I just watched Dumb and Dumber for like the 20th time,lol-good comedy. Animated Wink Smilie
I watched that two weeks ago. *cough* "Peddie"
wow, there´s many movies I havn´t seen that you´ve mentioned now. :/ aw well I know my cousin owns many of them so I can always steal them sometime and watch them! Wink Smilie Tongue Smilie
Anyways my fav movies the Matrix ones, the X-men ones and A knight´s tale and a bunch more I can´t remember right now. Tongue Smilie
my favorite movies must be "the chronicles of Riddick" and the I-II-III LOTR movies
Before I say anything else... I have to say- Everyone, look at the year date of your post. All of you but for Gash, for some reason you are fine. The rest of you are really old! Smile Smilie
Anyway, my favorite movies... hmm. LOTR, of course, though I have to view them as seperate from the books- I am angry at what they did to Faramir... The original Star Wars, the new ones are ok too, but more eye candy than even the first ones. Signs, Phenomenon is really good, I tend to lean towards the thinker movies. Star Trek: First Contact. I must admit (don't hurt me!) I am a minor Trekkie. Smile Smilie
The reason the pre-Gàsh posts say they were made in 1970 is because when the old posts were transfered here from the old forum at the beginning of 2004, all the dates were lost as were many of the first posts in each thread. Taz could never figure out how to get those dates back. Many of we CM's were able to cut and paste the first posts back into many of those threads, but not all of them.
