Indeed, u were very close, my friend; I'd like to share the prise with u, if my answer was correct! Let Grondy decide!

Well, even though Bugyfeanor gave a more complete answer, I will go with Arcormacolindóva's as it was made earlier. Arco gets the Pseudo-Silmarill. Happy Elf Smilie

An Eagle (that's how Thorondor is named; Thoron-taur mutated into Thorondor, Lord of the Eagles)

What deed of Melkor's was held to be the most hateful to Ilúvatar Question Smilie
*hiding from Grondy's wrath, knowing the answer comes too quickly*

The breeding of the hideous race of the Orcs. Though my own opinion is quite different: the marring of Feanor comes first for me!

Bugyfeanor has the answer and the pseudo-Silmaril, but doesn't get any of my wrath as he didn't answer the last one. Happy Elf Smilie

I was going to remind our Americas contingent to leave one unanswered once in a while to allow the those East of the Atlantic a shot at a question due to the time zone problem; however, I just noticed the reminder isn't neccesary. Lately we have been getting answers from that side of the pond too. Good Show! Cool Elf Smilie

Can you name two rivers that flowed through Fangorn Question Smilie
Gee what took you so long to figure that one out Arcor? Six long minutes??

I noticed the new post after 6 minutes Tongue Smilie
Anyway, since I can only think of one of the rivers off the top of my head, I'll let someone else take it. Wink Smilie
Waving Hello Smilie

Those would be the Limlight and the Entwash. Big Smile Smilie

[Edited on 19/11/2003 by TomBombadillo]

Bilbo meant to say "I need more time to solve this riddle!" or something like that, but got so stressed that the only thing that came out was "Time! Time!". That happend to be the answer to Gollums riddle and Gollum thought he was answering.. Sssneaky little hobbit.

We wantsesss shiny bauble. So pretty. So shiny. We be quick to answer nice master of the Hammer to get one more pretty bauble. Give it to usss... Nice master! Give it to Amarië.. *insert green eyed Gollum smiley here*
Okay, Amarië gets the shiny bauble because she begged for it so nicely, but even more so because she had the correct answer. Happy Elf Smilie

What happened in The Shire when the river Brandywine froze over in the Fell Winter Question Smilie
Um, wargs (or wolves) crossed the river and Gandalf came to the Shirefolks' aid?
White Wolves crossed over into the Shire to be exact.Wolf Smilie
Well LadyFeawen at the full answer, but Arcormacolindóva was first with the wolves crossing over, even though I think Gandalf and the Rangers were busy elsewhere and thus couldn't come to the Shire folks' rescue. Anyway, Arcormacolindóva gets the Pseudo-Silmaril unless he wants to share it with LadyFea. Happy Elf Smilie

To whom did Bilbo ask, 'Well, are you alive or are you dead' Question Smilie
I'll say Annatar (Sauron).
Perwing gets the Pseudo-Silmaril for the correct answer. Happy Elf Smilie

What were the three Dwarf-realms mentioned in Elven history, and under what mountain ranges had they been delved Question Smilie
Hadhodrond: Hithaeglir
Belegost and Nogrod: Ered Luin
Erebor: under the Lonely Mountain
Correct Arcormacolindóva. Your first is Khazad-dűm (Moria) under the Misty Mountains. Belegost and Nogrod under Ered Luin are the other two.

I'm not sure whether Erebor counts as being in the Elven history, as it isn't mentioned in the Silmarillion; however, were the Elves, rather than Hobbits and Men writing the history at the end of the third age, Erebor would have been included for an honorable mention as well as Dain's holdings in the Iron Hills. Still, neither of these was as magnificent as were the former three at the height of their glory. You get the Pseudo-Silmarill. Happy Elf Smilie

Name the large expanse of water in Southern Mordor Question Smilie

[Edited on 2/12/2003 by Grondmaster]

Yup, the Sea of Nűrnen, Peredhil gets the Pseudo-Silmaril. Happy Elf Smilie

Yep, more importantly he was the 13th King of the Rohirrim. Peredhil gets another pretty bauble. Happy Elf Smilie

The Elven kingdom of Gondolin (as seen in Of Tuor And His Coming To Gondolin), a.k.a Ondolindë, The Hidden City, The Hidden Rock, The Hidden Kingdom, The Hidden Realm, Gondolind, Gondolinn, The Rock of the Music of Water, etc.
I think they were some Underhills from Staddle.
Arcormacolindóva again has the answer and the Pseudo-Silmaril. Happy Elf Smilie

Who took Frodo to be a long-lost cousin at 'The Prancing Pony' Question Smilie
Correct Naira, you get the Pseudo-Silmaril. Happy Elf Smilie

What was most distinctive about the town of Esgaroth Question Smilie
The town of Esgaroth was-- Tongue Smilie Well, I'm pretty sure I know the answer, but I feel like letting someone else take it. If no one answers within like three or four days... then I'll answer it.
Arco, does your Esgaroth answer have something in common with egrets, cranes, flamingos, and even the hut of a famous Russian witch?
No, from the top of my head I think it was on stilts or something like that. Right? or not?
Yeah, it was built on stilts over Long Lake; stilts are what I was after, so Arcormacolindóva gets the pretty bauble. Happy Elf Smilie

Those long legged birds stand on stilt-like legs and Baba Yaga's hut stood upon and moved around on chicken-like legs.

Can you name three of the great Eagles of Arda Question Smilie
Actually, Grondy, I can't ... But I can name four of them; hope this will do:
