Then you should look really carefully on those lists of Tolkien's works in all the books. It's there. It's a lovely little story, a sort of kiddy adult story. I loved it.
Virumor has the correct answer and the pretty bauble. Happy Elf Smilie

In TA 2063, where was Gandalf sent, and what was he unable to discover Question Smilie
Gandalf was sent to Dol Guldur. Sauron went to the east so Gandalf failed to discover that Sauron was back again.

No, the keyword is initially.
he majored in philology
I actually was looking for the "Classics" and I don't think "English Language and Literature" fits that; if I'm wrong let me know.

So....

Who felt Sauron searching for him on the summit of Amon Hen Question Smilie
Frodo

Heh, that was an easy one Grondy!!
Stonehelm got it and the pretty bauble. Happy Elf Smilie

Yes, I know it was easy, but I try to diversify the hardness of the questions.

What would probably have prevented Glaurung from destroying Nargothrond Question Smilie

(Sorry I wasn't here yesterday, my modem has been acting up.) Elf Rolling Eyes Smilie
If Túrin passed by Nargothrond, it may have stayed hidden and avoided the sack... Alas Turambar brought his terrible doom with him to Nargothrond, and convinced Orodreth and his council to build a mighty bridge and to change their war tactics.
But this occurred and was ignored even after the bridge was built.
The bridge made it easier for the army of Glaurung to come to Nargothrond. If it had been destroyed, the enemy might have been delayed. I think someone had proposed to destroy the bridge some time before the war, but Turin had not approved of it.
Floyd_n_milan had the answer that I was looking for, and now has the pretty bauble. Happy Elf Smilie

Can you find the Odd Man Out: Goldilocks Gamgee, Galadriel, Dior, Isildur, Faramir Question Smilie
Goldilocks Gamgee : her name consists of two words.

(heh)

Seriously : Dior, Isildur, Faramir and Galadriel are all in a way, related to each other.

Galadriel is related to Dior, because Dior's wife is Nimloth, who was Celeborn's niece, with Celeborn being Galadriel's husband.

Dior is the grandfather of Elros, who is the first King of Numenor, hence related to Isildur who is of the line of Kings via the lords of Andunië. Faramir is related to Isildur, but indirectly via Mardil, son of Voronwë.

Goldilocks Gamgee doesn't take part in any of these relations, so she is the odd (wo)man out.
Virumor can have a Pseudo-Silmaril for his answer, but that's not the one I was looking for.
Umm, Galadriel is the only "Ring-bearer" and she's the only one who's seen Valinor. Also, she's the only one of them all, who doesn't have to face death.
Goldilocks is the only character without some elven in her blood.

can i have half a simaril for my previous answer, because it was on the right track Smile Smilie
