Thread: The Myth of Arcadian
Greetings to everyone, so, I decided to post the first part of my story earlier than I had thought, and here it is. Next part will be posted by day after tomorrow and a third part somewhere in the late week, enjoy!
The Myth of Arcadian
Part I : The Beginning of Times
'I've always used Norse Mythology as the base of my own story-line,
even many game companies have done so, and it is not a big deal,
and I won't ever take any credit for the use of it or claim it to be originally my own idea.'
Mainly the story focuses on lives of the four guardians and other beings who live in Arcadian, but still, the gods of north (as mortals simply call them) are the supreme gods, the guardians are also gods, but as being created by the gods of north, they are not meant to become greater in power than their own creators.'
The World of Arcadian was born when Odin himself found a fallen star from Jotunheim, one of the nine worlds, and for long he had been fascinated in knowledge that reached beyond his mind, so he wanted to create a new world, a world that would be well organized and safe, and in sight of Odin and his messengers, so he could follow the shaping of this new world.
And so Odin took that star and threw it far beyond the borders of Asgard, and as the star seemed to be far enough, Odin shattered it to little pieces and with the powers of his mind, he formed a planet out of the pieces of that star, and then he called his sons, Baldr and Thor and told them to ask from Loki would he want to be part of this journey.
And as he had agreeded, Odin called upon Sleipnir, his great eight-legged steed, and so they flew across the skies of vast universe, and finally descended upon the surface of this new world, then Odin called his sons and Loki to front of him, and said:
'Go, all of you, and give this world what it certainly needs, Baldur, rise forests from the soil of this world, and give birth to all kind of animals and trees. Thor, shape the mountains from the rocks that lie on the ground, call upon the rain to fall down from the sky and thunder to shape some of the landscapes to oceans and seas, and if you see that something else must be done, then do it by your own will and desires.. and Loki,
go to the northern parts of this world, and do what you can to make this world to look better, create valleys, crypts, dungeons or anything of your liking, I'll be overseering the deeds of you three from the sky above'.
And as they left, Odin took flight and began to circle the skies on the back of Sleipnir, and a long time passed before all of the work was done. And finally, after twenty two days, all of the lands, forests, valleys, hills, mountains and even the oceans had been shaped, and life bloomed everywhere in Arcadian, so, Odin called once more for Loki and his two sons, and so all of the four gathered to borders of one great and beautiful forest, which somewhere in the shades of future would be called as: 'The Forest of Whispering Winds', and once they were all there, Odin spoke:
'I am proud of all of you three, but the toughest and most draining part of this all lies still ahead: the creation of races and other beings, and as we've our own duties and responsibilities in the realms of Asgard, first we've to give birth to successors, who will serve as the reigning gods of this world, beings who will be nearly like us, but the balance of equality must be kept in right order, so, we'll give birth to two males and two females, and everyone in this world will come to know them as: 'The Guardians of Arcadian'.

The Myth of Arcadian
Part II : The Four Guardians
Odin was a wise man, and so he wanted to create a being who would hold wisdom and lore of this world as close to his/her heart as he did, and so Odin took a star from the sky, and from it’s beauty and brightness, he gave birth to a woman, who came to be known as Xaié, The Guardian of Lore and Knowledge, to her, Odin gave power over stars, planets, sky and even the sun and the moon, and her duty was to keep the history of Arcadian in due order and protect it’s lore and knowledge and grant it to creatures, who were still waiting to be created (and to be known as mortals) in the future.
War was something that mostly fascinated Thor, but he also understood the meaning of this all, and he wanted to give birth to a being, who would stand for great deeds and duties, and so Thor took a great rock and smashed it with Mjölnir and shaped it to figure of a woman, even if it sounds to be impossible, Thor woved all of his skill and love into this rock, and made it to live, and as the stony shell broke, from inside it arose a beautiful woman, who would hold the powers over dreams and even time, and she came to be known as Vael Nemathrel, Guardian of Dreams and Thoughts.
Baldur was very kind to be one of Odin’s sons, and as powerful and good at heart he was, he wanted to give something to this world, something precious and good, something that would change many things and secure the balance of this world forever on, and so, Baldur gave birth not to one, but two things, he planted a seed to ground, and from it, a very mysterious tree started to grow, and a while later it had shaped to great figure of a woman, and she came to be known as none else, than The Mother Earth, Goddess of All Life (Even as she is not mentioned in the list of guardians, she could be counted as one, but she gave most of her will and powers to Oerath, who she considers to be like her own son.)
And just a moment later, Baldur realized, that he had created a being, who would be destined to watch over all life and control both the weathers and times of the year.
And therefore nature of this world, but something came to mind of Baldur as the most clearest thing ever, and so he gave birth to that another being, and he wanted to create a image of himself, someone who would be his right hand in everything, that concerns this world and it’s inhabitants, and so he took another seed of life and transferred unto it a great part of his own love and planted it to soil next to Mother Earth, and so, it grew to figure of a man, young, but old at heart, wiser than any other and as understanding and caring as Mother Earth herself, he came to be known as Oerath, The Guardian of Lands and Woods, servant of Mother Earth, to him, Baldur gave all of his wisdom, kindness and knowledge, and Mother Earth taught him well and gave him share of her own powers, and so even today, Oerath is the most powerful of all four guardians.
But as evil at heart and foolish as Loki was, he wanted to create something great and maybe a bit good, but still something that would one day only serve him and maybe even try to vanquish the other guardians,
And so he killed one animal, took it's remains and from the flesh of that animal, a child was born, and that child arose, covered in blood, and even back then, his eyes glowed with colour's of black and red. Loki gave him powers over the death and decay, but he wouldn’t learn to use those powers until he would achieve a certain age, until that, he would remain as a child like any other, and same would happen to all of the guardians, though as being described as children, they were all eighteen at the moment of their birth. In Arcadian age and time aren't usually same as they're in reality, and so Loki gave him enough powers, so he would eventually become strong, and nearly as powerful as those who were born before him by hands of Odin and his sons, and this child came to be known as Mógrah, The Guardian of Death and Decay, and the path that lied ahead of him, being created by Loki, wasn't anything beautiful, but tragic.. and deadly.

For those who have been following this thread, I'm sorry, but I've to keep some break from this one, I'm in process of writing a story that will be very interesting and a long piece of work, it'll take much of time. - Oerath.
This and other posts have been moved to a new thread THE NEW SAGA OF ARCADIAN

Okay, that was something different. Celeborn, I appreciate that someone dug this old thread of mine out of it's dark den, but it was meant for my 'since abandoned' storyline about viking mythology.
Though it's nice to see some people to reply to your old posts, but anyway, I do not believe I'll tend to this thread again, and if I do, it may take a long, long time, before I do so.
- Oerath.
Okay, Celeborn, I've to be honest with you, I do not like of the way you use my oldest characters, and I want you to read this: Please, stop using this old thread. It was meant for my stories only, and even much as you'd like to continue it, I don't like of it.
Sorry, that is just the way it is.
If I am to continue this thread, it will happen by me, and me only.
I'd like you to respond to this message.
So, if you may, remove your posts and let's leave this thread as peaceful as I once left it, and one day, when I see it fit, I'll return to continue it by myself.
- Oerath.
Dear Oerath, please dont worry. .This will be corrected as soon as possible. I hope it has snowed now where you are. It snowed here yesterday and I thought of you and your gorgeous country and elves and men and dwarves accompanying you through forests of horefrost and silence.
There! I hope all will be happy with this arrangement. We have lots of room for creativity here on PT, it doesn't all have to be in one place.
