I watched it last night and feel it followed the book well enough for an adaptation. In order to make it have a happy ending they stopped it before the Philip Pullman's book ended. I assume this was in case they failed to make the sequels. The special effects worked very well and my dis-belief was suspended; I quite enjoyed the movie. Thumbs Up Smilie

I'd like a model of the movie's red dirigible.
