I still don't think we ever got the answer to "LASTIMASSE"... I think it was Val that posted it, so since no one has got that yet i would appreciate it if you could tell us now Val!
It's been so long I'd lost the answer... After tearing it apart and rebuilding it though, I guess the answer must have been LASSEMISTA, who was a Rowan tree of Fangorn, cut down by the Orcs of Isengard.
As for your's Perwing, I thought I'd got it with Thangorodrim, but the letters didn't quite fit.
Well, it could be either DRAGONTHORN or THORNDRAGON; however, I don't know where either of those appear in the stories.
So I guess I will settle on NARGOTHROND.
Try: HASTFRUGHTION
[Edited on 29/5/2003 by Grondmaster]
Another and final hint: Part of The Shire.
You got it ElberethGilthoniel and I have the answer to yours; however in the sense of fairness I will give the others 24 hours to work it out for themselves.

Still, according to our previous examples, a multi-word puzzle has had each word anagramed with a space separating the words; however, as you have mixed
all the letters together you might have separated the words with slashes or said "
three words".
Quote:
HELELYTNUAINTNOMO
should be:
THE LONELY MOUNTAIN
So try:
REEKREBERKNEES
(one word)

NEEKERBREEKERS
Here's an easy one..
PLTAOIHNU
PLTAOIHNU = HULAPOINT ?
Naw!
Oh dear! lol
i thought it was easy! hehehe! Do you really not know Grondy...?
I could give a clue if i need to.. :S
TTFN
No, but then I haven't taken much time to worry it, as I spent six hours on P-T Sunday (working through the forum and in our
Two Towers Class in the #Bilbos-Study chatroom and will be pushing four hours here today.
Ah-Ha! The letters just now jumped out at me, except the beastie can't jump.
OLIPHAUNT I guess I better give a new one ----->

I'm awful at this! God!

No I can't make sense of it. But it's late, and I've had a stressful day.

Made it a bit too hard for you all, did I? Mwahahahaaa
Keep trying.
I've tried messing about with it a couple times Peredhil, still haven't got a clue though.
Maybe one of these days it will jump out at me with an, 'Of course, how did we ever miss that?'
Until then ...
Thanks Aster!

So apparently I'm not the only one who thinks that one's difficult eh? Less stupid than I thought then. lol

WINHRIMA =
MARHWINI According to
Unfinished Tales: Quote:
Marhwini = 'Horse-friend', leader of the Northmen (Éothéod) who settled in the Vale of Anduin after the Battle of the Plains, and an ally of Gondor against the Wainriders.
His name does sounds like a horse call at that. He was the son of Marhari and was active in the late 19th century of the third age. He preceeded Eorl by about 600 years.
Try -------> DONPULMRUGLIF <------ (I also got confused and tried to do this word in the Wheel of Tolkien Thread.)

Well done Grondy. *claps*
I can't figure out yours yet though.

!hint
Grondy, help us. Noone seems to have a clue about it
It is a one word nickname found in the index (probably only used behind-the-back) of a prominent hobbit; however, when we hear the nickname's source in Bree, it was from the combination of a particular adjective and noun.

That's how I found and researched it; hope the hint doesn't help too much--I doubt if anyone will read the three chapters just to find the solution.
Another hint for you.
The hobbit who got tagged with this nickname was the mayor who preceded Sam's seven terms.
Will Whitfoot preceeded Sam, but I don't know the nickname.

DONPULMRUGLIF
Would that be: Flour Dumpling
Quote:
Will Whitfoot, the Mayor and the fattest hobbit in the Westfarthing, had been buried in chalk, and came out like a floured dumpling.
And on the off-chance that is the correct answer I will give you this one:
rkelroabce
Quote: DONPULMRUGLIF
Would that be: Flour Dumpling

Actually Flourdumpling (one word) is what I was after–see my hint below. But Rednell's two word answer is acceptable and we can now work on her new one.Quote: Quote:

Way to go Rednell.
Hint: involved with horses
Boy! Rednell, that was a hard one! I could make a bunch of words fron that like:
laborcreek
clearbroke
brokeclear
barelocker
bearlocker
How-some-ever, none of those are truely Tolkien related, so it has to be one of Gimli's titles, that being:
Lockbearer.
And right you are, of course, Grondy. Your turn.
Okay, Try:
R O U N E M N
[Edited on 16/7/2003 by Grondmaster]
[Edited on 13/8/2003 by Grondmaster]
I first got Nunmore but I don't think that's the answer

So, how about Numenor? (Technically Númenor).
Is that right?
Arcormacolindóva you are correct, but many of us have to use our character maps the get the special characters and thus we have been just using the 26 letter alphabet ignoring that there is a difference between é, ê, ë, and e.
Ok, now I see, Grondy. Thanx for telling me! It's hard to remember the diversity in here; it feels like one big family.
Do I have to answer my own question?
In case you all missed it for some reason; i'll post it again:
LAZEROHLE
I got it~!
ZEAL HOLER. Although I don't have a clue what that is.
Lazer Hole, it is the hole in material surrounding lazer burn.
Sorry, I haven't been able to figure it out either Arcormacolindóva.
REAL HOLEZ.
Where are my fabulous prizes? If it's a car, I want a black one. And it can't be a stick shift.
Do I have to give y'all a hint?
I think so Arcorma.

Mound; 2nd letter Z, found in Silm.
Just knowing the second was Z was enough to find it; "Mounds" varified it.
Ezellohar - The Green Mound of the Two Trees of Valinor, also called Corollairë.
Try ----> A S H R O M / C A T / W H E T
Jumble all the letters together to make three words of six, three, and four letters as separated by the two slashes.
[Edited on 26/8/2003 by Grondmaster]
[Edited on 21/9/2003 by Grondmaster]
Thaw Hamors, etc.
The correct spelling is hammers. And Why would you thaw one?
I want a Black Mustang Convertible with an auto trans... '68 or '69 will do just fine if you don't have a new one.
Sorry MIM, you have to use all the letters in the right order.
And as long as were handing out prizes, I want a green '55 MG-TF, a silver '56 300 SL Mercedes, a gold '57 T-Bird, or a red and white '58 or 59 Corvette.
I like it! I wish I had figured out and used that for my clue when I was anagraming Tolkien's words.
Oh yeah, that is another rule, the words must be Tolkien related and I don't remember Tolkien saying anything about Bombadil being in a car washing game; I think that was more in Goldberry's line of work.
So you will have to try again.
The puzzle remains:
Quote:
A S H R O M / C A T / W H E T
Three words of shown length, but the letters don't necessarily belong in the word shown, they often belong in another word. In other words mix them up an plug them in the slots so they make sense.
Hint: The hoard of this monster was once the hiding place of an ancient object highly valued by a certain hobbit
Quote:
It's Washroom the Cat!

Well other than using too many o's, and ignoring the word lengths I have denoted, you have correctly stumbled on one word and it ain't 'Cat'.
Quote:
A S H R O M / C A T / W H E T
Assuming everyone has given up, here is the answer.
SCATHA THE WORM Merry's horn, given to him by Eowyn, had been found in the hoard of Scatha as written about six pages into
RotK, Book 6, Chapter VI.
Someone else care to start another one?

It may have been very easy for you, but I have sweat a couple hour's tears on it for over the past few days. Suddenly tonight in just five minutes of trying it fell together. Normally I try to find them using the indices, but I must of been too tired the night I was attempting that.
hasetwn = Entwash So from
REDROGER FABLEG try to make an 8 letter word and a six letter word pairing from
