I really like this poll. It's sure to get some very fun conversation going. And I already know who I'm gonna pick!
favorite tolkien poem
I'll consider a favorite 1st/2nd Age Favorite Character Poll. A Favorite Poem Poll would be fun too, except most of them don't have titles and we don't have enough room for their full first lines. Will have to think if there is a simpler way.
I suggested a poll idea for the forum Council of Elrond, which is currently using it. If it's okay to recycle it, I think it could spark some debate here. It is: "Which character in Tolkien's legendarium is the most misunderstood by readers?"

I think it would be nice if the question was "What race's inventions or crafts made the biggest impact on Middle Earth?" Like the Dwarves and their mithril crafting, the Elves and the Rings of Power, etc. and so forth...anyway, just a thought.

I'll put up Cloveress's poll when the council gets their poll controls returned to them. The we lost our administation link during the change in servers. I'll consider Virumor's additions along with Zena and Wonder Woman and maybe even England's warrior queen, whose name slips my mind—me thinks it may start with B.

You might be confusing it with Beatrix, the Queen of the Netherlands.

Xena, Zena whatever her name she fights the same.
I was going for the characters in the LOTR to make things simpler. If we were to include everyone in the legendarium the poll would be as long as a hobbit's birthday speech.

I agree, the current poll is so old that even its children have grey hair.
I'd change it if I still had the controls to do so, as it is I've emailed Grep asking for their return. Until then, we're stuck with it.
