Favorite Tolkien quotes....

Because I couldn't fine such thread already(I could find one just with quotes but...) Thought I'm sure there is already a thread like this. I desided to make one. What is/are your favorite quote(s) from tolkien? Is it a quote from the books or the films?(not only from LotR but also other books or Tolkien himself) I just would like it to know what other people think.

One of my favorite quotes is from the movie in "The Fellowship of the Ring" when they are in Loth Lorien and Legolas says:"A lament for Gandalf..." And than Merry asks what the are saying and then Legolas says:"I have not the heart to tell you. For me the grief is still too near".

One I also like is also from the movie. In The Fellowship of the Ring when Boromir is dying. The last words he says to Aragorn:"My brother. My captain. My king".

Of course there are much more quotes. So....please feel free to post your favorites.

If someone can find the "real" thread for this, please post it here as well!

From the third movie, RotK

Sam says to Frodo at the foot of the Mountain, "I may not be able to carry it for you, but I can carry you!"

And Sam lifts up his master and carries him up to the cracks of doom.

Lovely one, both Brego and Rukain.

Cirion, Unfinished Tales:

''Vanda sina termaruva Elenna·nóreo alcar enyalien ar Elendil Vorondo voronwë. Nai tiruvantes i hárar mahalmassen mi Númen ar i Eru i or ilyë mahalmar eä tennoio.''

I don't think many know this one so here is the translation:

''This oath shall stand in memory of the glory of the Land of the Star, and of the faith of Elendil the Faithful, in the keeping of those who sit upon the thrones of the West and of the One who is above all thrones for ever.''

''Loyalty is the only moral instinct that can exist on the same plane as truth itself. They may clash, but one can never overcome the other without cost.''

That made me laugh so hard. I was like "what the heck?" and then I realized what it was from and I laughed a ton! Good ol' Samwise, eh?

Arwen that is one of the proff's cleverest lines.
Love the look on the Hobbits faces when Bilbo delivers it.
Wonderful.
