As far as i know it is the same place... YET... it is not the answer that i am looking for! You should try and read about Gondolin. At a certain moment something happens in the eagle's cleft.

Ah, the precursor to the battle at Durin's Tower (between Gandalf and the Balrog) occurred in Cirith Thoronath, the Eagles Cleft). For there on a peak fought Glorfindel and another Balrog with the same result: they both fell to ruin in the abyss. And Thorondor bore Glorfindel's body out of the abyss, while it was Gwaihir who bore newly reborn body of Gandalf from Durin's Tower.

The Eagles'Cleft is named Cirith Thoronath. It is a dreadful pass where Tuor and Idril were fleeing from the surprise attack on Gondolin. There they were ambused by Orcs; there was a also aBalrog ready to slay them all. And there indeed Glorfindel, chief of the House of the Golden Flower of Goldolin, fought with the Balrog upon a pinnacle of rock form that place. Both fell overboard.
So yes that was correct!

That would be on polished tree stumps/small logs, if I recall correctly. Gandalf and Beorn sat in chairs at either end of the table.

What made the jailer and the chief butler of Thranduil nod off so that Bilbo and the dwarves could escape?
