What is a Writer?

In my opinion, a writer is someone who writes (duh!) to get a point across to the reader, in either a factual or fictional sense. It could be to inform the reader of a certain fact or viewpoint, or a story, designed to move the reader in some way. Either way, a writer affects those who read his/her workl, be it only in the smallest way.

I asked yesterday exactly the same question in another thread of this guild ("The Apprenticeship of a Writer"), so I won't repeat my views here! Anyone interested in them can find them in my yesterday post in that thread! :D nn[Edited on 16/3/2003 by Eryan]

Indeed you did, Eryan. I just thought that it was a topic worthy of discussion on its own. :D

I also like to encourage people to write. It's fun and it doesn't cost anything. :funnylaugh:
