Are those 'Chilimanzar' and 'Chilic' hobbitish and did they specifically apply to Merry Brandybuck's first name?
Merry is called, after the essay ' ON LANGUAGES ' in the HoMEXII, Chilimanzar. But of friends it was called Chilic. That means as much as ' merrily ' and the translation as ' Merry ' was obvious therefore.
