I just joined the forum on the heels of the casting news for The Hobbit. My favorite actor, Richard Armitage has been cast as Thorin Oakenshield an I'm pretty excited about that. I am not that familiar with the story, as yet, reading the book will commence as soon as Chapter 5 of my doctoral dissertation is completed sometime this week.
Everyone I've met here so far has been lovely and interesting to "talk" to. I am looking forward to sharing more with you all. If anyone wants info regarding Mr. Armitage's career, as many don't seem to know him well, please don't hesitate to ask, I will be happy to share what I know.
And I hope you stay a long time - we just don't have enough gender balance here. Ally and Tinuviel do their best, but they are out numbered by the hordes of brutish males on this forum. From me you'll only ever receive perfect rspectability, that goes without saying.
I already said hi in another thread, but welcome again! Please don't let me put you off by being a purist, we're welcoming of people of all stripes here, regardless of whether you like PJ or not. Plus, we talk about a lot of other things as well.
Welcome! Like the others have said, I hope you'll stay and discuss whatever Hobbit/LotR related stuff that comes up Alternatively, you can discuss whatever else that may interest you, I have found that "The Hobbit Movie Forum" is a slightly misleading name, as there seems to be no limitations on what can be discussed here
