You might not believe this but some people on this forum seem to think I'm a bit grumpy. :shock: So don't believe anything you might hear from anyone making this scurrilous slander! Especially if his or her second name is Banks!

Well yes it is indeed Mr Banks- here I was trying to present myself as not crabbity-even going so far as to use the tamer grumpy- and you come along and blow my bloody cover. <img src='/images/smileys/vevil.gif' border='0' alt='Very Evil Smilie' />
I suddenly am thinking of lots of other adjectives other than awkward! Bloomin' Banks family, pop up like moles in a garden. Wonder if there's such a thing as a mole mallet?

You must be referring to the Tintin panel Elrond 8-) . I had that pegged as Danish myself back on page 2, but never actually got around to posting the translation (I have an English copy of Tintin in the Congo).

I was listening to the BBC radio play of TH from the 1960's and there's some odd pronouncements in it. Most notably Thorin and Thrain, both of home have a silent H. Anyone know if this is accurate or a mistake by the BBC? Also Gollum is given an odd twist, its Gol-loom, and with a distinct break between first and last syllables.
