My god! Do they still make those things? I remember doing "The Warlock of Firetop Mountain" back when it first came out. I think that was the first one ever. I got bored of them after a while, but I was really into them for a bit when I was a kid, yeah!
And again I really don't know what you're talking about... I'll just have to get used to it, I guess... Wink Smilie
Guess so.....
Are they still all done by Ian Livingstone and Paul Jackson?
yupp, the best ones are still by Ian Livingstone and Jackson.
im dying to get Warlock of Firetop Mountain and all those Zagor stories that follow [Eg: Return to Firetop Mountain] and stuff
Im utterly jobless right now, and just found three books lying around my house ...pretty ok actually!
i like those complicated ones....mazes, dungeons, stuff
yeah they're pretty old! started in '82 or something,.....thats why the good ones are really tuf to find
fun for a time anyway
Tommy, seeing as how you and me seem to be the constantly clueless ones around here, I think we need to figure something out that we both know a lot about and no one else does...then we can have conversations about stuff that sounds interesting that no one else understands. Turn the tables a bit, ya know...
Haha! Bu t I know about everything! I suck up all pop culture like a huge popy cultury spongy thing! You will never manage it Chika!

And i think the first FF books came out in about '83-'84 about the same time I moved down here to Devon.
I still think we should try, Chika! Good idea! Send me a mail about it or sth like that, so the others don't find out. Then we can open a topic with a title no one understands, so we can talk in peace! Wink Smilie
Getting a fat neck, *Plastic? (what did I say, getting, you already have one!) Wink Smilie
Big Smile Smilie
I won't laugh cause I had too ask about sth. And your 'sith' question hits the mark I think, not being the SW frantic fans that PS&U r. Big Smile Smilie
Fat Neck?!? You've lost me already, darn! And Chika managed to get one up on me last night, in a manner of speaking...
I certainly hope twas in a manner of speaking, otherwise I don't know what to think! Big Smile Smilie

HA HA!!! *drink *Plastic
yeah, Tommy, it was the greatest thing ever...I managed to know something about Hitchhiker's Guide that our lovely squirrel friend knew nothing about! HAH! I win...Big Smile Smilie Big Smile Smilie Big Smile Smilie

(By the way, I think you may have meant that he was getting a fat head, or at least that's what we say over here about certain people with overinflated egos...ahem ahem...Big Smile Smilie)
OOOPS. Yeah, that's what I meant, Chika. Over here we say a fat neck (I think Boring can confirm that). My English is not that good after all, I guess.

I think figurative stuff doesn't translate so well ever anyway...we found some odd ones in my spanish class...

[Edited on 2/1/2002 by Grondmaster]
I'm not that good at figurative things. Not in English, anyway... Smile Smilie
I get them when you tell me them, but I wouldn't know how to make them myself... Big Smile Smilie
Oh, I see, too big for my boots....
Fair point!
You bet it is!
Hey Tommy, What do mean when you write "sth"? As I rememberyou used it in connection with breakfast or food.
sth is my short for something. Like sb is short for somebody and someone. Not that difficult, is it? Smile Smilie
It's fairly standard shorthand I'd say. Though I hoped it meant Sith.
Sith? Wasn't that creepy red thing from Phantom Menace a sith? Or am I totally off? (Don't laugh if I just made an idiot of myself!!! Wink Smilie)
Darth Maul was indeed a Sith lord, as was Emperor Palpatine and Darth Vader (and Darth Tyranus in Attack of the Clones will be as well.) The oldest Sith lord I can think of is Exar Kun who you probably won't know. They're kind of the Anti-Jedi, there are only ever two, a master and an apprentice. Here ends the Star Wars lesson for today.
I knew something someone was talking about! YESSSSS! Big Smile Smilie
It's not that big a deal, is it?
's been a long day...all small victories are appreciated at this point. Smile Smilie
Ahem. From my 'Guide to the Star Wars Universe',

The Sith were an ancient people, conquered by powerful dark-side magic. Over their 100,000 year history they came close to vanquishing the Jedi several times. Some 4,000 years before the Galactic Civil War, they battled the Jedi in a conflict that was known as the Sith War. They maintained an unbroken line of chief practitioners known as Dark Lords of the Sith. Since an internal conflict 2,000 years before the Battle of Yavin, the Sith were reduced to just two members - a master and an apprentice

As you said, Exar Kun wasn't the first Sith Lord, but was certainly the most famous (besides Vader & Sidious). During his time there were at least 2 other darksiders - Satal Kero & Aleema, but they were both killed during the Sith War, unlike Exar Kun.

Darth Ungoliant
All I ever wanted to know about star wars and more...
Once again outclassed by someone whop can reach their books from their chair easier than me (or someone who can be bothered to stand) Damn!

Darth Squirrel (The Master) Big Smile Smilie
Damn! Too slow! I get to be apprentice again! Mad Smilie

Darth Ungoliant (temporary apprentice till she figures out a way to trap her master in a lift with ten Jedi Masters)
Your lift full of Jedi masters does not scare me! They can all be turned to the Dark side and will fight with me against my young upstart apprentice. "You have much to learn young Jedi"
Your overconfidence is your weakness!

The Jedi Masters only pretended to turn to the dark side. That's to keep you off guard till I can sneak behind you & chuck you down a vent shaft.

Hmm. Not a good idea. Cos then I'm screwed as it's 10 against 1. Ah well.

What is thy bidding, my master?

Wahey! I rock like a rocking thing in the wind! Go and feed the Badgers young apprentice.
*grumble, b***h, mutter*

Yes, my master. Would you like a beer from the fridge as well?
Great. And I lost the whole topic again... What were we talking about again? :P
All you ever wanted to know about Star Wars in 15 lessons? Smile Smilie NOOOOO!!!! Wink Smilie
(I'm just hoping that rumour of GB playing in the next film is true, but that also means I'll have to go and see it. Even buy the video.. Then I'll have a SW video in my collection. That can't be true cannit?) :P
Yeah, get me a beer, and some crisps too, Pringles mind you, none of that cheap crap...
woohoo pringles... you can't stop eating them till the (cilinder shaped) box is empty and you haven't got another one
ewww...pringles...I much prefer Utz potato chips.
I'd rather have Ruffles Sour cream & onions...yummy.

My Mechanical Design professor (Prof. Kaufman) used to go on and on about how he was the one who designed the unique Pringle shape...the contour & thickness etc. etc. I thought that was quite impressive.
wow, he engineered pringles? I'm impressed too...

How do they get them all the same shape? Don't they waste a lot of potato doing that? I mean, do they have to cut off the extra bits to make it pringle shaped? What do they do with the extra?
Did you tell him they're not thick enough and that you need to eat three at once for a decent gobfull?
Yummy, Pringles! Love them. But I'm really addicted to the Croky Ribbles chips. Paprika! MMMMM!!! Smile Smilie
Chikakat: On the contrary, they don't waste any potato; they start out with potato flakes and other ingredients to it, make a paste of it, pump it into molds, bake it, kick it out, stack it, tube it, ship it, stock it, buy it, and eat it. :P Pringles is yummy and their shape makes them dipable. I likes Doritos better. Big Smile Smilie
ooh Doritos...Cooler Ranch or Regular? I like cooler ranch better becuase they don't turn my fingers orange...
Yeah, like Grondie said. Isn't that how they make McDonalds fries as well?

Ranch, for sure. Although Barbecue isn't too bad.
