I believe that was Carn Dm
Yeah, the whole "this is what the names literally were, and this is how I translated them" is pretty interesting, and even moreso when we start recognizing what the noted linguist and linguiphile did with words many of us might not recognize, but he knew well. I wonder how the Rohirrims names are translated in Scandinavian climes...?

Oh, right there's another question... ... I'll say Celebdil, because it can't be Carathras. Though I doubt I'm anywhere near west enough, but I'm remembering them as running N/S, probably because of been reading so much "the Spine" this and "the Spine" that. Funny how things work: I was in a quandry over that last one 'cos I KNEW there were four Farthings but I also KNEW I rememebered it as the Three Farthing Stone, which made no sense to me. Sigh, I really need to reread. I thought Carn Dum was the origin of the men who worsted Merry and Co. right after they left Bombadils though (not that means Mellon is wrong, of course, even if my memory hasn't failed me. ) Stinkin' With-King! *shakes fist in impotent rage 'cos he's male*
Carn Dm is the answer I wanted; though it was a fortress and major city of Angmar, I'm not now sure if it was also a mountain. But it was located at the far northwestern end of the Misty Mountains about 150 miles to the West of and 250 miles to the north of Rivendale.

As Gorbag and his orcs did come from Minas Morgul, (Tower of the Moon) it would have to be a Moon on their sheilds, if it wasnt the white hand or the red eye Orc Smiling Smilie
