Thread: Grondmaster, where art thou?
We got a e-mail from Grondy's daughter, telling us that our dear Grondy has fallen ill and is now in hospital. But don't worry, he will be well again and she expects him to be back home after the Christmas holidays.
I must say that I can't imagine Planet Tolkien without Grondy, so I hope and believe that there will be many nice posts in this thread and/or as many PMs and e-mails in his inbox (firstname.lastname@example.org) for him to read when he returns.
I hope he gets well soon. PT is not the same without him. Get well Grondy. We'll be waiting for you!
I'm sorry to hear that, get well soon mate.
You are so right, Amarie, PT isn't the same without Grondy. Grondy, get well soon! You're very much missed!
Get well soon, Grondy. You have to hand out Pseudo-Silmarils and run the Khazad-Dhumish Inn, or I'm going to start typing in only capital letters AGAIN!
I'll do the party tree...
We've all missed you Grondmaster.
Hope to see you again soon,
Grondy, no, I canot bear it. Please get well and come back to us. We love you so, admire and I personally come on to this site because I know you are here to come to.
Love and hugs and prayers.
hope you get well soon grondmaster, christmas is a rubbish time to be unwell
Nothing new from the daughter yet Amarie? This is agony. Grondy you are on my mind and in my heart daily and in my prayers during the night watches. hugs.
Be well soon old dwarf. For the years I've been here, he has never been anywhere else
There has been no news from his daughter as of yet, but we will be waiting for some words from his daughter, and anxiously.
He will love these kind words
We have received an update for you all from his daughter and he is doing alot better!!
Grondy is now not in hospital, he was released last Tuesday and is feeling alot better and happier to be out of there!! He will not return though for a few weeks, as he is trying to fully re-cooperate. We are told that he is suffering from serious computer withdrawal
Feel better old Dwarf
That's wonderful news!! I'm so glad he's out of the hospital :-)
That's great news. Thanks for the update Loss.
Get back to us soon old fellow. We miss you!
I just happened to drop by and see all the old friends from PT, and heard the news about Grondy. I am very happy everything has gone well with him and hope to see him back soon.
This is good news indeed!
I received an email from Grondy's daughter today. He is out of hospital and in a skilled nursing facitlity and doing very well. He expects to be home by the 2nd week of February. She planned on visiting him today and will relay the news about the return of our fraggle king. I have no doubt that he will be very excited to hear all the news and read your best wishes for him.
Can we get an address for the facility? Would be nice to send him a card from PT, if not an address for the facility, perhaps his home.
His daughter has been quite helpful with emails to keep us updated on his health. She could be asked. Although, it might be a better idea for everyone here to write and sign a 'Get Well Note', take a picture of it, and send it to email@example.com, that way he'll have quite a few cards when he returns. There may be some now useful Mithril
in it for you if that is possible now?
Just a thought
Excellent idea Loss! So be it....
Every member who designs a get well card and sends it in, will receive 5000 mithril.
Cards can be digitally or hand-drawn (photo/scan it) but you you must sign the card and include your member name-- The more creative the better!
Send all your get well cards to firstname.lastname@example.org, we'll forward them on to him as we receive them.
I received an update on Grondy. He is doing very well and should be home by the 1st week of March. He is having a bit of online withdrawal as it is not available to him in the critical nursing facility.
So, keep your thoughts and hopes that Grondy will be back with us in a few weeks.
Miss you, dear Grondmaster! Can't wait until we see your name on a forum posting, soon.
I only just noticed the 5000 Mithrill for submitting thing; but I submitted a few days ago and nothings happened...?
I don't care as long as G.M. Gets it
Cheesey that's a really cool card! Kudos!! I scanned in a Hallmark card since I'm really limited in my use of computer graphics..
Any recent news from Grondy CMs?
Yeah, because this is the end of the first week of March. Where art thou?
He was meant to be back by now
yes, he was.. I keep looking for him to post something somewhere, anywhere!
I contacted Grondmaster's daughter, today, for another update.
He is doing really well and the wounds have healed. The next obstacle is to build his upper body strength so he can home and live independently. That may take until mid-April but could be sooner with all the good wishes coming from our PT family, which really motivates him.
She wanted me to convey her gratitude to everyone for encouraging him so much. She has been relaying our messages.
I will keep in touch and relay any reports.
I'm so glad to hear Nell, I have been really worried about Master Grond !
oh thank God, I have felt so worried. what wounds, what do you mean. that sounds dreadful. did I miss something along the way?
Grondy, speaking for myself and my family , you are precious and so important to us. Get really well and strong and come back to us. It is painful to come here to our second home and not see anything by you. Totally sad and painful.
hugs, yes I dare to say hugs!
That's good news Rednell!
PT is not the same with old Grondy! Wish him a speedy recovery so that he may come back to us
Also hoping for a speedy recover for Grondmaster!
It's almost mid- April and I'm anxiously looking for a post from Master Grond! I hope you are fit and well again, good sir!
sounds like a stroke.....it takes a long time and a lot of hard work to recover.
Yes, I can imagine it might be something like that. But has anyone got some info on what is actually wrong with Grondy? It's probably just me
, but I don't think anyone's ever said exactly.
We don't exactly know. I am quite sure he didn't have a stroke but it is probably something to do with his wheelchair accessiblity and conditions related to that. Hopefully, it won't be much longer. I know that his daughter is conveying our best wishes to him and he is aware that he is missed very much around here.
Just keep those postive thoughts and prayers coming, folks.
Indeed he is!!
Grondy has posted in his own thread, so lets all go there and welcome him back!
