We have established a Telegram group for old and new visitors to stay connected and discuss all things Tolkien.Does anyone know what is new or changed in the 50th anniversary edition just published of the Lord of the Rings? I know that the division of the text into three books is dropped and the two pages of the Book of Mazarbul (sp?) in color are included as Tolkien had wished, and some more maps in large foldout format. If that is it, I'm still inclined to prefer the one-volume red leatherette covered and boxed version. It should be red, like the Red Book of Westmarch. For that matter, I don't much care for the color prints of the book of Mazarbul which I have anyway in another text (J.R.R. Tolkien: Artist and Illustrator).

You know, I'm not sure about that? If I come across something, I'll let you know. I did see it in the store the other day, but it was all packaged up so I couldn't thumb through it. Man did it ever look nice, very expensive though, $100 clams U.S.
I read somewhere that the entire LOTR text got revised and rewritten by Philippa Boyens. Could this be true?
