well, being a boy, i must say that i havn't really noticed, but i spose he becomes darker(because of the ring) and with all thats happened to him, being ripped clear out of hobbiton, being given the task to destroy the ring and loosing Gandalf have all weighed on him, made him grow up a bit, more mature, i spose that would make him more desirable*ish*, well, thats my thoughts anyway.
And of course in LotR: TTT Frodo became way darker and desolate than he ever did in the book. If he starts out LotR: RotK at the same intensity as he ended LotR: TTT, he will never make it past Cirith Ungol, let alone all the way to Mount Doom, Sam or no Sam. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if Sam cuts Frodo's throat just to put him our of his misery.

Any intervention on my part would be to give him a couple slaps and tell him, to shape up and be a hobbit. "Good God man, what are you a hobbit or a mouse."

We never had this problem with the books' Frodo, as his depression came on more gradually.

i know the quest is darker and all, and i pitty that hobbit! cause is any man or elf for that matter tried to carry the burden of the ring by now they would've failed! we are to greedy and that is our human nature. but he is trying his hardest to resist.
#1ElijahLover,what do u mean by 'desirable'?are you saying that the more he got depressed the more hansome or cute he got also?well, im not sure what the question is,so i'll shush-up.

Me too, but do you think Frodo would be stronger had he known that Gandalf was alive? Or get all mad because Gandalf isn't helping him?

I'm guessing Frodo would want more to succeed. With Gandalf being there, in spirit if not in physical form, Frodo would have more of a reason to destroy the Ring. With no Gandalf, Frodo lets himself be corropted.
I don't think Frodo would get mad. I think he would iunderstand. Unless being corroptyed had something to do with it.
I think what #1ElijahLover means is that as Frodo struggled and faced his fears and the whole corruption thing, he became stronger and that made him more desirable, not because he was struggling and you want to help him like Anilorak mentioned, but because he kept on going and made himself stronger.

Now that would cheer me up, I might quite like Sam if he did something like this.
