Thread: Norse Legend to be Published

Thanks Ady,
I will be looking forward to checking out the new book. I read the article, and it looks fascinating.

Gandalfs Beard
Ooh, its the Legend of Sigurd and Gudrun. I actually got that for my brithday in May, but Ive yet to read it. Ill make a post on it after I get to it.

YEY! A legend from MY country! This is so great

Did anyone of you read it already? And if so what do you think of it?

I'm looking forward to reading this one...Big time!

[i:2z80md81]Praise not the day until evening has come,
A sword until it is tried,
A maiden until she is married,
Ice until it has been crossed,
Beer until it has been drunk!" [/i:2z80md81]- (Viking proverb)
Yes - who could argue with Wisdom like that! (Here to help!
)

I find it very old fashioned - and quite sexist, frankly.

Indeed it seems so- at least he attempts to make a relevant comment before spamming his ad link! And his 'very informative' comment in another thread to a discussion on shrinking people gave me a laugh.

I think Mr Brahman is a spammy advertiser

Is brah gone? *phew* I reported one post from the LOTR forum but noticed he'd hit elsewhere as well.

Gone for good. I pulled out the Ban-Hammer.

Huzzah for the Banhammer!

I borrowed it from Thor.

You could have borrowed mine, I have 2, a 15 and a 10 Kg sledge.

Yeah but your hammers only squash Noom! GB's ban! Perhaps you could lend him a squashing one for particularly annoying spammers.

Sir Eldorion is an excellent candidate for a right royal banhammering, I'd say.

Thor's ban-hammer is Sacred and not to be used lightly.
(I only use it on the unrespectable sorts
)

See, Odo? I [b:2pd3z10o]am[/b:2pd3z10o] respectable!
See, Odo? I am respectable! [/quote:3ez1xw93]
A matter of opinion, Eldo, no more, no less!
A matter of opinion, Eldo, no more, no less!
[/quote:39m3v9y9]
More a matter of policy now that a [i:39m3v9y9]Moderator[/i:39m3v9y9] has weighed in.

Maybe mods are like judges on the x-factor- you need 3 to pass. Tricky as we only regularly have 2.
Am I respectable O mighty mods?
~Ally

Indeed you are Ally.
By the way Petty, technically, as Durin only makes rare appearances these days, I am the ONLY regular Mod.

I just tend to call you [i:35ma9n9m]Princeps[/i:35ma9n9m] and let that be that.
I just tend to call you Princeps and let that be that.[/quote:32nwqh15]
How about [i:32nwqh15]Princess[/i:32nwqh15]?

'By the way Petty, technically, as Durin only makes rare appearances these days, I am the ONLY regular Mod.'-GB
I was being generous to Durin GB. Best not upset a mod, not when they go about the place with a firm grip on their big ban hammers!

Rumour has it that GB does have a very firm grip. GB, do you sit around all day squeezing one of those stress-balls? If not, what do you squeeze so regularly to have such a strong grip?
Someone open a window...
Wish I hadn't stumbled into this thread...

I'll leave that to your fertile imagination Mirabella.
(whew, it IS getting warm in here. YES, please open a window
)

Clearly respectability is not a character of [i:97pnd2ud]all[/i:97pnd2ud] Bankses.
