Thread: ROTK Pics!!

Great pics, thanks!

Thanks for the tip Stony! I liked the pics....I hope it will not be a complete disappointment!
I like the shot with Gandalf, Aragorn and Legolas when you can see Glamdring much clearer!

Aragorn riding into battle with Anduril (the flame of the west), and the White Tree on his chest is still my favorite!

I don't know Ringfacwen, maybe it was left out when Elrond was warning Arwen of what would happen if she married Aragorn.
Then again maybe at the end of ROTK PJ will fast-forward to tell us what happens to everyone in the end.

I don’t know for sure that P.J. is going to use the death of Aragorn and Arwen footage, but I do know that the footage exists. The death of Arwen and Aragorn is told in the appendices of ROTK (appendix A, (v), pgs. 370-378) ’Here Follows A Part Of The Tale of Aragorn and Arwen’. It has become obvious to me now that since we saw some of the scenes from ’The Tale of Aragorn and Arwen’ in the death of Aragorn/dream sequence in TTT, that P.J. and Co. decided that if they were going to go through the trouble of filming those shots from the appendices, that they might as well shoot darn near close to the whole thing as told on pgs. 370-378. We also got some of the footage from this tale in the extended DVD version of FOTR. So it seems with that footage, and the footage that was in TTT, and with what we may, or may not see in ROTK, again, that P.J. basically filmed the majority of the events that take place in the tale in the appendices.
Like I said, I don’t know if this footage will be used (at least in the theatrical version). If it does make the final cut, it will be very interesting to see exactly how it's applied in the film as I do know for sure that the movie is basically going to end with the scenes at the Grey Havens (P.J. has said that the Grey Havens scenes are his personal favorite from all three films), and that we are going to see some version of Sam coming back home from the Grey Havens to Rosie and Elanor (Sean Astin's real life daughter is going to play Elanor) and saying ’Well I’m back’. It seems likely that if the Aragorn/Arwen footage does get used that it would probably be in the form of something like Stonehelm described in terms of P.J. doing sort of a fast forward to show us what happens to everyone after the War of the Ring (possibly with Galadriel talking over this part like in the beginning of FOTR).

So, how about if this was another scene where Elrond was showing the end to Arwen: such as what would be her fate were she to proceed with this marriage and the rejection of immortality.(... That certainly is a very real possibility Grondy, and it would give P.J. more "wiggle" room if he decided he didn't want to use the footage at the end of the movie, in the fast-forward type scenario.

Here's a couple of links wth some more pics I thought people might find interesting. The first link is all ROTK pics, and the second link has some ROTK, plus some other goodies!

Let us hope that is indeed Prince Imrahil in that pic, and how about that shot of Arwen as Queen! I don't mean to get all "drool" thread, but the stills of Eowyn, and Arwen take my breath away!

I don't like the way Denethor looks, though. He makes me think of Count Dracula in the movie 'Bram Stoker's Dracula'.
And we see Arwen on a horse so probably she's going to the Grey Havens. Yet she becomes Queen in the end .... so is she suddenly going to turn backwards with her horse and swiflty rid towards Minas Tirith ?
Man, i can't wait to see the movie...............

Yeah, he looks a bit like Jon Voight with long hair. Anyway, i can't notice much of the wisdom or greatness in Denethor that Pippin noticed in him :S

Yes, yes, my precious, more cool ROTK pics!

Okay, as some of you may or may not know, there was quite a fuss today (7/30/03) as someone leaked out a portion of the ROTK trailer on the net today. The portion of the trailer was actually up at TORn for a few hours today before New Line made TORn pull the plug. Unfortunately for myself, I narrowly missed getting to see it this morning before it was taken down.
However, I was just over at CoE reading some responses by a few people who were lucky enough to have seen it, and I found out the trailer bit was up at another site (lightsoutentertainment). To my misfortune, I arrived too late again, and the trailer had already been taken down on that site, but they did have a bunch of the screen shots from the trailer up on their site. These are all new pics for ROTK, hot off the press! I have left the link below. Hopefully these will still be up by the time some of you see this.

Well it looks like LOE has already taken down the screen shots, cause the link isn't hooking up to them anymore, and I can't find them anywhere on their site now. I think you and I Naira were possibly the only ones here at PT that got to see them before they were taken down. I did get to see the mini trailer today though it rocked! I'm getting pretty darn excited myself!
Also, here's a link to some more pics, which I believe, haven't been posted on this site yet.

I hate to double post, but in this case I have to do it! Here are the screen caps for the ROTK teaser trailer. Jump on these as fast as you can, cause I don't know how much longer these will be up.

You're right, Elfstone, they've taken the pictures down, I logged on later on to show my sister the photos but they were gone.
I guess I was quite lucky. But the link you posted above is awesome too!

Yes Elfstone, this last link still had the cool pictures there.
Some day we will see the trailer and it won't be a lousy flawed bootleg copy.

There are some really cool new pics from the Dutch version of the Return of the King Official Photoguide up over at TORN now. I've left the links below for anyone who is interested.
