She has a great voice (the lead singer) and I think its cool how they don't seem to care what they wear but I've never been into their most popular songs (the harder tracks),I like their accoustic songs and lyrics but I can't really imagine going to see them in concert anytime soon or being a big fan.

Well, all their songs sound exactly the same. They haven't got "creativity". so I am with Vir and Ross for this time. I don't like them.

Quite right. The main thing with Evanescence is that their music has absolutely no soul or feeling whatsoever in it. They never sound like they care very much. Also, they just aren't distinctive or unique enough to really catch my attention. They're just like a lot of the other nu-metal bands around, designed for people who like anything they're told to like, or that fits in with what other people like. Yes ok Pere, but that’s not quite right though, I have a mind of my own and I have not been told to like them or anything like that it just happend that I really do, and one more thing is that I belive that both their heart and soul lives in their music and I for one can truly hear it even if you might not.

I went and saw them live at a place called Harpos in Detroit, and at first I didn't like them either because of the radio and hearing her voice continually on it.
But after seeing them in concert, I have to say they do rock, and are pretty good at it.
The bassist shot me with a supersoaker! I felt so honored!

My sis is a big fan of them but I can't say I'm the same. Their songs are okay but somehow they just don't pull me into listening to their other songs. Although the other day my sis played one of their songs from the album, I'm not sure which one, but at the end of it, it sounded like the chorus from Khazad-Dum's theme! I was surprised, so maybe you Evanescence fans can elaborate further. 
By the way, when they performed at the AMA, is it just me or did the lead singer sounded like she couldn't get her voice out??

Hmm...Evanescence...are alright. I quite like them at the beginning. Amy's got a great voice - and she designs ALL her clothes herself, thats why they're all so cool. They're not really rock, but...um...yeah i like them...

I like Evanescence, amy lee ( i think that's her name) has a great voice, i like more or less every track on the album.

you have come to the wrong place then, this is a thread about EVANESCENCE, not evernon(something) which probably is a crappy band. Evanescence is NOT! :P

Lets be nice people. There is no right and wrong when it comes to music, art, and literature; opinions on these are purely subjective. One either appreciates the esthetics of the subject in question, they can take it or leave it, or they simply hate it. And after the passage of time, their previous opinion on the subject can change. Familiarity leads to love or breeds contempt.

The point is to discuss things reasonably and not attack eachother. There is no need to offend a person becuase he/she like a band you don't like (or vice versa), or something like that. There is freedom of speach here as long as you follow common sense and decency. Grondy just warns when things might turn ugly in a post or two, not because what we have said so far is out of line.
