Question: what's the name of an elf who sacrifised his life that the splendiferous maiden of Eldar and a mortal could be together???

I think they do.

Look in the Silmarillion in the tale of Beren and Luthien and read the poem you come across that starts "he chanted a song of wizardry..." That's Sauron chanting first. He an dFinrod have a chanting battle. I memorised the poem for my voice dynamics Drama assessment. EXCELENCE!! It's a really great poem.
