The University of Vermont will be hosting TOLKIEN 2005, a conference dedicated to the works of J. R. R. Tolkien on April 1-2. The keynote address will be delivered by Tom Shippey, renowned Tolkien scholar and author of The Road to Middle-Earth. The conference will begin with a fireside reading at 7:00pm on Friday, April 1, with a fireside reading from Tolkien’s works in Waterman 501. The conference will continue Saturday with a series of lectures to be given in UVM’s Memorial Lounge in the Waterman building. All events are free and open to the public.
