If anyone has already wrotten about this idea then ypu will probably ignore this thread:

How about making a new Site Content: ME Polls. There could be a poll each week, for example. Quick and fun questions and a few answer options.

From overall ones like:

Whick Hobbit is your favourite?
Frodo
Sam
Merry
Pip
Bilbo

to some more in-depth ones, like:

What do you think was Aragorn's most "Numenorean" virtue?
His wisdom
His longer lifespan
His envolvement with the Elves
His hatered of the Enemy

At the end of the week the results could be posted, and the amount of people taking part. That would be a real eye-opener, a chance to get to know our perception on various topics.
