I am really surprised by the limit to the size for our avatars? 70x70 and 8Kb? Really? I am curious to why the limit is so small? Is it a storage/bandwidth issue? I haven't seen limits that small since the 90's. Also gif only?

I hear ya, I am like, how the hell can you see David Wenham's face in my Avatar for crying outloud. It's an outrage of elephantine proportions!
I see David just fine. 
Taz is rewriting the forum for Ruby on Rails, and suddenly one day all will change. In the mean time all we can do is wait.
