I have had that happen when I click on the 'Select Member' tab, before waiting for the subject and message boxes to load. When I wait for those boxes to show up, it works fine. Do you suppose that could be the problem you are experiencing?

Yay! You used the teacher smiley!! haha Well I'll try, whenever I go to send a message I always try to pick the person first and it just doesn't do anything. Darn, no luck! I clicked on the select a member and nothing happened as usual and then when I tried to click on the Subject box it was slow and took a long time to highlight it. After it highlighted I pressed the typing box and it took awhile to highlight but not as long as the subject box did. After this box highlighted I then tried to click the Select a member bar again and nothing happened the second time either! Very mind-boggeling! haha
