Thread: WHAT'S HAPPENING?
I think you are seeing posts that have been moved over from our new sister site, Hobbit-movie-news.com.
I was a bit confused when I started checking the forums then it kind of clicked. 
Yup.
When Planet Tolkien acquired the-hobbit-movie.com we adopted (imported) their forum into ours, along with their members and their posts. So for the time being, you will see lots of new posts and unfamiliar faces, however, being the community we are, I think we'll all be happy to see these new members and welcome them accordingly!
And let us all thank Taz again for the fantastic work he does to keep Planet Tolkien the premiere site for Tolkien fans and literati.
Taz, my friend, you must be part wizard to accomplish everything you have done for PT...but I don't recall seeing you at the White Council meetings. Hmmm...anyway, thanks again, for all your hard work.

Taz. How did you manage the merge? I have something similar in the works. did you do it manually or did you use a script to update the database?
I had a script written that exported their phpBB and imported the data into our own database.
I was just wondering if/when the rest of the posts would appear, since as of yesterday a lot of them hadn't (I mentioned this on the blog comments on the-hobbit-movie.com). Thanks in advance!

As of last night it was:
1. A few random opening posts, including the one from this thread: http://www.planet-tolkien.com/board/13/4449/0/pj's-merry-and-pippin
2. Anything from after 8 February
3. Anything from the late Other Fantasy Stories, Ideas and Suggestions, or Board Announcements forums.
How very strange. It is rather like sitting down to supper with your ten family members and waking up, going down to the table and seeing a hundred faces staring at you!
But welcome and I hope you will love it here as much as we do.
I agree Leelee, very strange indeed. Now we know how Bilbo and Beorn felt. 
I want to give a warm welcome to all THM-members. I know this is a bit of a shock, but I hope you will find a home here with us. This may not be what you are used to, but I hope you will give us a chance.
A big thank you to everyone who has posted and/or chatted with me so far. I'm sure this has got to be almost as shocking for you, so thank you for being so open.
