Decided to say hello to everybody here. It's my first posting here.
It absolutely seems the mods of this forum sure are doing a miraculous job.

Welcome, Veinquign! We actually have a New Members forum; our most excellent moderator Gandalfs Beard might move this thread there. (Yes, I did use the singular: the other mods seem to have gone on permanent leave

Why should it be moved? It's been in the New Members forum for almost two months now.

Funnily, I found a totally how-did-this-thread-ever-get-on-the-new-members-thread of my own, so I guess I should not be too prudish about it! 
New Members has sort of become our off-topic forum since we don't have a real off-topic forum, though it shares that role (along with its official one) with "The Hobbit Movies".
The New Members forum was this way before I became a Mod. There was a main thread, but many new members just automatically started their own. by the time I had my Mod Powers the it was too late. We [b:2l5l4t74]were[/b:2l5l4t74] trying to keep most of the chat in this part of the forum though (until certain agents of chaos sowed their seeds around the forum ).
