I watched this 2007 movie on cable during the weekend. In it a revolver-wielding stranger crosses paths with two warring clans who are both on the hunt for a hidden treasure in a remote western town. Knowing his services are valuable to either side, he offers himself to the clan who will offer up the largest share of the wealth. Samurii swords and six-guns, you can't beat that.

Basically it is a spaghetti western done in Japan with English voices and is sort of like the Japanese remake of an American remake of an original Japanese film: like Yojimbo (1961 ) to A Fist Full of Dollars (1964) to Sukiyaki Western Django (2007), but with a lot more included. I thought it was quite well made, like it hung together, and was a lot of fun. Much better than the American Last Man Standing (1996) which starts out with the same premise.
Has anyone else seem this film?
No, but it sounds very much like Six String Samurai (1997?). I would like to see it; I need something to get the taste of the sequel to The Boondock Saints out of my mouth. It was even worse than I thought it would be.

I did see Last Man Standing a few years ago. I didn't like it.
