Hi Raptor.
Yes, Tolkien did begin writing a sequel to The LOTR. It was called: The New Shadow. It was going to be about a resurgence of the Cult of Morgoth, some 200 years after the War of the Ring, during the reign of Eldarion. It was abandoned after only a few pages, but you can read it in The Historys of Middle Earth: The Peoples of Middle Earth.

What I wrote here was too close to being Hot Button fodde, so I deleted it as being too political. I had to do this as I have deleted someone else's comments in another thread today and what is fair for the goose is fair for the gander.
It can stay there unless some body takes issue with it or expands on it, then it would have to go, hypothetically speaking as we were.
