Mrs. Tar Minyatur/Elros Elf With a Big Grin Smilie

Actually, if my remember member remembers correctly, we have never learned her name or background, but you are correct she was a Human as opposed to being an Dwarf, Elf, Ent. Hobbit, Orc, or Troll.
I find it quite surprising that her name doesn’t appear somewhere, especially considering the fact that Tolkien gave us names of characters far lesser in importance. I wonder if that was just some small oversight on his part? I mean after all, that lineage is absolutely essential, and critical to the overall History of M.E.

Maybe she was just some floozie Elros picked-up in some bar on one of his journeys and she had no pedigree, but he fell head over heels in love with her. Elf With a Big Grin Smilie

Or maybe her father turned out to be a serial killer or child molester or maybe after the birth of Vardamir she ran off with a drummer from Dubuque, so for whatever reason, her name and pedigree were expunged from the records, because, as you say, they were very big on the genealogical records of their Kings and it should have been listed there. Probably Tolkien just felt her name and background were insignificant, when compared that of Elros, that he never got around to working it out and putting it down on paper leaving us with this quandary. Happy Elf Smilie
It just seems to be another of these great corundrums that the great man left us with. He went into so much detail in certain areas and then left us with big blanks in others. Makes you wonder whether it was oversight or deliberate?

It had to be deliberate for whatever reason Tolkien felt necessary. The Line of Elros descendents chart on page 221 of UT is just too detailed, and complete (as well as The Line Of Elros chapter). Tolkien obviously knew he was leaving her name out. I’m convinced now that this is one of those deliberate things Tolkien intentionally left out to keep the reader guessing, which he often did from time to time (as he mentioned himself in Letters).
