Old man, Morgoth’s child, I guess all the "welcome"s and all the "glad to have you here"s wont sum up what everyone really means. It is a privilege... nay, a pleasure to have you join us. why thank you, i do feel very welcome. so far, this is the best Tolkien site i've been too. everyone seems to know what they are talking about, which is such a nice change from only one person (sometimes me) having any knowledge on anything Tolkien.

Tommie wasn't trying to be sarcastic and/or rude, we use that smiley as a humourous way of saying "I agree" with the person above. A little joke between friends. She ment no harm, she's a gentle as a lamb (hehe, no really she is). She just forgot that you wouldn't know that and she will be quite upset that you thought she was making fun of you.
If she HAD been rude and sarcastic, I would have made sure she knew that we don't approve of that sort of behavior. But Tommie has been a member here for quite some time and I know she ment no offence at all.
I am one of the Council Members or moderators of this site btw.
