Yes, they are good books. There does seem to be the stupid male syndrome going on there though!

Hehhehe what do you mean Stonehelm?
Oh and by the way....what is the name of the first series of David Eddings marvelous books? In swedish it is Sagan om Belgarion....but what is it in english!
The Belgariad, I believe, Aule.

I have always found the Eddings' writing to be like a tonic - soothes the soul and lightens the heart. Big Smile Smilie
The Belgariad???? What kinda penguin molesting NAME IS THAT?!?!?! I liked the Sagan om Belgarion name better...The tale of Belgarion....much much better.....but I agree Allyssa...it IS quite soothing....but also rousing...I get really into the book and when something happens like when Geran gets kidnapped I feel exactly as Belgarion does!

Moderator SmilieIf you must use foul language please **** out the whole word, not just bits please AuleModerator Smilie

You know what I mean, Polgara has an IQ of about 500 and all the men are "Duh, what can I kill, what can I steal, what can I eat" Compare them to Aragorn...no contest.

Read the Sparhawk series Aule, you will like those also.

What about Prince Khelder(Silk)? He was always shown as being at least vaguely intelligent.... And in the prequel, Beldin is shown to be incredibly smart.

The Sparhawk series are also very good, just try not to read them too soon after you finish the Belgariad or the Mallorean as the similarities between characters and scenes can be very irritating.

I found that too, 42. Eddings has a wonderful way of taking you on a journey with the characters, making you feel as though you are travelling every step of the way with them. After three series of his books though, I just couldn't manage the second Sparhawk series. I was just getting too tired of all the travelling.
Some more sets of books I am looking forward to reading.
okey I am sorry Plastic....But I think that Belgarion has ALWAYS been a dunce Dunce Smilie but when the time comes he sure can do ALOT of things that I wish I could....I always feel the same as you mentioned Val

This is true...I feel exactly as Belgarion when they kidnap little Geran for example...when he feels disgusted by the Bear Cult’s banner etc.
But the most intelligent one most be the Good prophecy Big Laugh Smilie Big Laugh Smilie

WOW!!! That was a twist I didn’t see coming....Eriond becoming a GOD!!!!
Man.....that’s some power they gave him.....I finished the Mallorean 2months ago....really good!
