Well, for many years I wanted to rule the world (talking about dreams, right?!); than I thought I'd be better trying to help Europe to become one, which I'm still thinking, but with less conviction!

Now I'm dreaming about being a write or a linguist: either one would do for me!

Namarie!

Lol,that seems to be every male's dream when he is young.

A writer is defintly something you could be,Feanor.I always wanted to be good at writing poems and that sort, but lol not many people have that type of talent. So I hope those dreams will come true,if just for you. Smile Smilie
talkin of dreams, I just wanna good husband and family and make a success of myself. Smile Smilie
Sheryl, that's great to hear. I am lookin' for the same thing, but I plan to get a good education in case I don't get a hubby,or if he can't support the family by himself.
Oh yeah, what did I want when I was young?
Quote:

I started off wanting to soar in the sky amongst the eagles

Hey! You stole my dreams! lol No really, I wanted to fly a plane, or do something in space (especially after I saw the James Bond MOONRAKER movie)
Yeah same here Arcormacolind’va! I wanted to become an astronaut and be in outspace....but then I am claustrophobic and to think that I cannot go outside of the spaceship without a tight friggin suit doesn’t appeal to me anymoreTongue Smilie
But I still want to fly....but also I wanted to become a fireman....since I just LOVE fire....a little bit too much pyromania in meTongue Smilie

But then I wanted also to become a gitarist like David Gilmour....I wanted to play as good as he....then I wanted to be a drummer....and I still want to but not paying for lessonsTongue Smilie
And now I am with the remaining dream...to be on the ground and help those beautiful ladies fly high in the sky without crashingTongue Smilie ehehhe
I wanted to become a part of the A-team (curse American tv). Before that, i wanted to become a soldier.
Nothing wrong with wanting to be a soldier, I do!
My dad of course had different plans for me, he stills wants me to be a singer or songwriter. Too bad for him!
My friend really wants to be a vet, but her parent's push her towards being a gymnast. They really picture her being in the Perfect 10, in the olympics and such.
I wonder if that causes us to strive for different goals, our families hopes and dreams for us... (???)
yea, I hate it when my parents tell me wot I`m goin 2 do when i`m older, but luckily my parents don`t do that! Big Smile Smilie YAY! my mum just said she don`t want me comin home lookin like a goth or havin loads of stuff pierced when i live under tha same roof as her, so I plan to do all that Wink Smilie
My parents told me I had to go to college. So I went got a job and left. Now I have a brilliant job and an apprentice ship. Never let any one decide your future, get of your butts and be pro-active.
well, I have had many dreams in the past...like many I wanted to become a vet (mosntly cuz everybody told me I was great with animals, ofcourse I loved and still love animals myself) I also went through a faze when I wanted to be a hairdresser (I think that dream only lasted about half a summer). A fairly recent dream of mine is to be a clothing designer...not sure of that one though. The main thing I want to spend my life on is travells all around the world. Big Smile Smilie
Lol Ae,that is about everything I've ever wanted to be. I wanted to be a vet for a good deal of my life but then I found out that you have to be in collage for a long time and the pay isen't even that good.
lol, yeah Fea that’s kinda what I realized too! I don’t really wanna spend most of the beginning of my life studiying eventhough that’s the only way of getting a great job. *sigh* I whished there was a much better way.

I did the same, well I have a crappy job, and a useful sideline in playing dodgy music in pubs, but it works for me.
Hey! I still am young! So hahahahahahahahaa to all the old farts! :P
I am still young, too Rawien, but I am talking about when I was just a little kid full of silly hopes and dreams. Big Smile Smilie
I'm a bookeeper training to be a accountant (maths geek). I know most people wouldn't like this but I find it really easy.
When I was younger I wanted to be everything from a doctor to a lawyer to a policewoman to an astronaut, even a bank manager. As I grow older though I realised that I love science, but I also love writing and poetry so that made choosing courses a bit confusing. But luckily my parents never pressured me to take any specific courses so that was okay. I've had friends whose parents force them to take pharmacy and medicine even though they hate chemistry and weren't good at it either, and that's a shame because they would be happier (and better) doing other stuff.

Wow!! That's a long list Naira!! How old are you?? Like 500 years old are something?? Wink Smilie
LOL, Flo.
Actually I just turned 18, but let's just say that I was a fickle-minded child. Big Smile Smilie

virumor: Hehehe...funny mateWink Smilie Cheers Tongue Smilie haha
im still young Smile Smilie i want to be johnny depp's wife...lol
I wanted to the next "Merlin"....or archaeologist who discovered the next great ancient egyptian tomb(like King Tut).
I wanted to be an adventurer on a sailing ship in the South Pacific.
Actually I wanted to become a boy.. so I asked my father if he could get me a boys' equipment in the shop since thought that was all I needed to become one ...Nowadays I'm married and I have 4 childrenSmile SmilieSmile SmilieSmile SmilieSmile Smilie who would have known ? Anyway I wanted to be a guide since I loved to travel and use the English languageHappy Elf Smilie
I have lots of dreams...The most important of them is being an archeologist like Carter...Discover cities considered lost.who knows,it might come true..
I wanted to be all sorts of smart jobs.
But soon realised, i'm not too smart, so gave up on them, and just took a job that payed well.
Being grown up sucks.
When I was little I wanted to be a vet and then a game ranger so that I could work with lions, and cheetah's and other wild animals, but then at that time I heard something about them having to cull elephants in a certain game park because there were too many of them - I didn't like that very much, not at all actually, but thankfully they don't do that anymore. I also decided I didn't want to be a vet anymore when I found out that I'd have to study zoology and do disections on animals.
Then I wanted to be a singer, I begged my mom to send me for lessons, but she refused so I had to join the school choir a couple years later instead... while eventually killed my dreams of becoming a singer.
Then I wanted to be an artist or a book illustrator, but my dad convinced me that I would never be able to make a living doing that - He wanted me to be a civil engineer or a pharmacist (because I did well in science/physics in school) - so I studied graphic design instead. I also wanted to be a film maker but those courses were too expensive. I thought I might be able to get into 3D design and computer generated special effects, but it was way to technical for my liking. I enjoyed video editing but that's a tough industry to get into.
So now I am a graphic designer, working for a small and frustrating design studio, doing boring adverts, corporate stationery, billboards and other such stuff. I still paint and draw in my free time (of which I have very little), but I still hope to fulfil my dream of becoming an artist.

Wow, what a long story... Sleeping Smilie
I wanted to be a Nun!!!!! ....Instead I got married, had 2 children, divorced, re-married, had 9 tattoos, and several piercings....I don't think so now, do you????? Could you picture it!!!!!
WOW!!! Can't say you lead a dull life!!Dunce Smilie

i wanted to be a soldier! (and still wants to) Very Evil Smilie
I remember when I was really young, when I was asked what I wanted to be, I responded "a daddy". Haha! Funny how things don't work out.
Anyway, now I want to major in linguistics and anthropology, but first I have to focus on fixing this quagmire at school! I've been absent for over a month and a half because of my health (haven't left the house since then), and have a huge amount of work to do and classes to catch up in, and my health isn't going to 'magically' come back to me ... *grumble* I went from rank 11 out of 200 something and High Honors to likely not graduating.
Mellon, you and I have a lot in common Smile Smilie I wanted to be a boy also. It always seemd like they got to have all the fun and do cool things that everyone admired while girls were wimps. I wanted to be a cowboy like Roy Rogers. Now I'm married and have two children and don't care much about doing cool things.

I wish the best to all the young people who've posted in this thread. Life is tough. Tyrhael, I wish you the best in feeling better and catching up with classes..
Well, I'm still young! And I want to be an herbologist or a biochemist. Or a pharmaceutical consultant. Or something like that. You get the idea. Plants. Love'em.

Of course, being some sort of diplomat wouldn't be too bad either, but I'm not setting my hopes too high... I'm so harebrained I'd probably mess up all my country's relations.
When I was real young, I loved dinosaurs and I wanted to be a paleontologist. From junior high on, I wanted to be a Marine Biologist. I love whales.
Since i was about 3 years old, i always loved younger kids and i was always the one teaching them to read, act and play instruments etc. So that's what i wanted to be- a teacher in English, Drama and Music!
I was always in an adult world and so to combat lonliness I read by the age of three, and around that age began printing and so wrote my first story and even illustrated it. I was very proud and when I was four in private school I gave it to teacher.
she read it, said we were not allowed to use pen until grade three and tossed it in the bin.
But at any rate I pursued writing and it became my work along with working with battered children and the elderly.
I've wanted from age 5 to travel to countries where childre have to live in the streets and help them. unusual for a 5 year old. I watched a document about street children and it really set my heart on fire and years later that fire still burns but not so bright as it once did.
I would love the chance to do volunteer work in poor countries but i still haven't had enough money to do that unfortunedly Smile Smilie
One day perhaps Smile Smilie
May your kind and gentle heart see the fulfillment of that five year old's wish one day dear Arath.
you wil make many hearts glad and tired eyes smile.
I'm bored and just ran across the coolest job ever and thought I'd share it: Astrospy. An astrospy = an astronaut spy trained by the CIA to take pictures of soviet facilities in the 50s. They were replaced by satellites before any of them ever went on a mission though. Still astronaut + spy = coolest job title ever.

This is such an interesting thread! As I'm still young I'll just go with what I I currently want. I've always had a deep admiration for anyone in The Force or law enforcement and currently that's the field I would love to work in. My absolute dream job is working at NCIS (I already wanted that before I started watch that tv show) as a special agent or something with forensics. Or I want to join the navy (probably IDC). But first I'll have to finish high school. Sad Smilie
