Just for you Tommie...
We're leaving together,
But still it's farewell
And maybe we'll come back,
To earth, who can tell?
I guess there is no one to blame
We're leaving ground
Will things ever be the same again?
It's the final countdown...
We're heading for Venus and still we stand tall
Cause maybe they've seen us and welcome us all
With so many light years to go and things to be found
I'm sure that we'll all miss her so.
ahem.. enters gimli on air synth....

Dr Pepper what`s the worst that can happen?
How about:
"Iknow a song that`ll get on ya nerves get on ya nerves get on ya nerves.e.t.c................."
HUM........ What else? Cry me a river is another one, I can`t stop singing that. I love that song though so it doesn`t matter really.
The thing that really, really annoys me, is when I`m doing tests and I start singing a song when I`m trying to concentrate.

I must admit to opening this thread with a little trepidation as to what gross material was going to be in it.

Val, when i saw this, i thought the same thing-
"i know a song that gets on everybody's nerves everybody's nerves everybody's nerves, i know a song that gets on everybody's nerves and it kinda goes like this i know a song that ,,, "
"This is the song that never ends, it goes on and on , my friends, some people started singing it not knowing what it was and just continue singing it forever just because it is the song that never end, and it goes on and on,,,"

LOL! Though I gotta admit that I kinda like it.....when I am using it to annoy others.
It's funny, sometimes I'll wake up in the morning with this dumb little tune going through my head, and for the life of me I don't know where it came from.
Soory, I can`t back you up on that one! If you catch my drift.
Recently, I've had the Teddy Bears' Picnic stuck in my head, for some reason.
I don't know that tune but it sounds funny!!

I`ve just seen Maid in Manhatten down at the pics and I have an ear worm now. My mates and I have been singing;
'I`m coming up, I want the world to know, got to let it show...............e.t.c.'
We were looking like fools bc we were singing out loud quite loudly. I bet you`re thinking I`m glad I wasn`t with them.

That one isn't near as bad as 'Teddy Bears' Picnic'
I have had the wizard of Oz song, "Ding, Dong, the witch is dead, which old witch? the wicked witch! Ding dong the wicked witch is dead!", in my head for about 2 years. 2 YEARS! I havent seen the Wizard of Oz in about 5 and a half years! talk about Ear Worm.
Let us see if this one will work:

Grondy, thats scary *hides* i hate that song! AHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *runs away*
Ok Grondy, you link for the little tea pot had several other songs on it too. I used to work in a preschool and the songs:
The wheels on the Bus
The Clean up Song
and any of the Barney songs really were Ear Worms there. I got really sick of all of them.
At nap time, I ended up getting classical music cd's to play so the kids would rest and i could get these others out of my mind. After school, in the car I would turn my radio on any Rock station and just blast it for the 30-45 minute drive home. Poor Robbie would beg me to turn the music down just a touch. Some times I would, but other times. . . NOT. lol Mean ole Mommy. heheheheheeee

Okay, "I'm Looking Over, a Four Leaf Clover" is another good ear worm. I think I was nine or ten when I first learned to sing it after hearing it on the radio.

Lol, sorry, just had to add my "ear cootie"
Never thought I`d say this but that song actually makes sence! (j/k)
And I'd like to add:
* Mission Impossible theme
* Love and Marriage (Sinatra, that's right)
* Flinstone's theme
* Iris (Goo Goo Dolls, if I remember rightly. I always seem to come up with the words: well I don't want the world to see me, 'cause I don't think that they'd understand, etc)
* Pink Panther theme
* I just can't get you out of my head (Kylie Minoque, if that is the one?)
* In Zaire
* Parachute (Something Happens, and this just happens to be a great song)
* Jump! for my love
* Final Countdown
* and my last one's a Dutch song, for those of you who speak Dutch: Dit is de allereerste keer! (tu dum, tu dum, tu dum, tu dumdumdum ) It keeps on lingering in my head, and it's terrible! I'll see if I can find a link to it.

Glad to say I don't know any other ear worms. Not for the moment, but with the radio turned on I'm bound to come across one.

Funny enough I found an article about Ear Worms, so I thought I'd share it. Kinda interesting...
No. 1 Song That Gets Stuck In Our Heads
3. Baha Men's "Who Let the Dogs Out?"
2. Chili's restaurant jingle about Baby Back Ribs
1. Other
When University of Cincinnati researchers tried to find out what song gets stuck in our heads the most, the non-answer they came up with was quite revealing: Other. As in, there were way too many titles for a single poll to tally. Almost all of us suffer through this mental torture of having a song stuck on replay in our brains, repeating itself over and over and over until we want to just scream. If this happens to you frequently, we're very sorry to inform you that those University of Cincinnati researchers have determined you have slightly neurotic tendencies. Either that or you just enjoy music and listen to it often. (Personally, we're opting for the second choice.)
Which songs get stuck? Kellaris explained to Reuters that when we get a song stuck in our heads, it's usually the first or last song we heard in a specific situation, such as the song playing on the clock radio alarm or the song on the car radio when we turned off the ignition. "Just about anything can get stuck in people's heads," Kellaris told Reuters. "We each have our personal demonic tunes that get stuck in our heads, I guess."
But stuck songs, which the Germans call "earworm," tend to have these features in common:
--They are relatively simple.
--They are repetitive.
--They contain an element that surprises the listener, such as an interrupted pattern or something that violates expectations of what comes next.
--The most common culprits are songs with lyrics.
--They stay stuck in our heads for a few hours on average.
So what do you do to erase the stuck song from your brain? Kellaris advises you not to worry about it. (If you take him up on his advice, just don't listen to Bobby McFerrin's "Don't Worry, Be Happy" or you're sure to just trade one stuck song for another.) Other tips include listening to different music or distracting yourself with another activity. You can also try singing the entire song--and not just the snippet that's stuck in your head--even if you can't quite remember all the lyrics. There's even a folklore cure: Chew on cinnamon sticks.
Kinda goofy huh? Chew on cinnamon sticks? Who came up with that?!?

Got another one. It's from a birthday card. The card is pretty funny, but the song is such an earworm!! Haven't heard it for about a week now, but you only have to hear it (or when you know it, thinking about it is enough) once, and it's engraved in your head.
Here's the link:

ARRRGGGHH!! I hate that jingle! It makes me want to throw my radio out the window!
Can't think of any jingles that you will know...but I do know that the latest song from J-lo feat LL is a terrible ear worm to have! The woman can't sing and the consept of the song is just awful......why do these awful songs stick in your ear and pop up when you are doing something important?
It was a dark and stormy night... Well, I can't rememder if that was the case, but anyway: I had finally managed to get into bed, too late as usual. Lying there, waiting for happy dreams to come, I started to hear a low sound, from inside my head. It grew quickly louder, until...
THE WHOLE room was echoing with Shanaya(or somfing) Twain, "I'm gonna get you".!!
I didn't like that one much before, and far less sneaking up on me like that! After half an hour of torment, I snapped, bounced out of bed and turned on the TV. Ahhh, the relief...

Hahahaha! She did that to me 2!
"When the moon hits the sky like a big pizza pie, that amore " Try having that stuck in your head!
I like that song GrevBukMcJern!
Another song that will stick is that tune from "The Sound of Music" the "Do Re Mi Fa So La Te Do" song!!
