anybody have anything they are happy about?
I got 50 quid for my exam results and I only asked for 30 and my tests weren`t as inportant as my bro`s GCSE`s! Big Smile Smilie But that`s not as good as ur`s Aule.

I got all 5`s in my SAT`s, but still, they aren`t that important...but I`m proud of the ppl in year 6 that went to the same school as me coz we got the highest scores that the school has ever got in years! So I`m proud of them. Big Smile Smilie
I got ’200 for my GCSE results. Big Smile Smilie
WOW! Lucky teen! *very jealous!*
Spoilt git's!
LANGUAGE ROSS! TSK TSK! I`m very disappointed in u! Wink Smilie
I've told you before it's English, you should know you sort of speak it!

Does someone pay you to do good in your tests or something? I know some kids who get lots of money at doing good in school.
Noone has ever payed me for my grades in school Very Sad Smilie
Oh well, I've just learned that the reward is the good grades themselves. Smile Smilie

Anyway, I'm really happy because I won a contest and now I've got two free tickets to Pirates of the Carribean and a t-shirt! Big Smile Smilie Woohoo!
Aire, that messege on the end of ur drawing, well, u`ve just gave me the second reason... Wink Smilie

Same here Aire.....just getting a very good grade is an extremely great feeling.....even though sometimes one does not deserve it.... Smoke Smilie
I never got paid for my good grades either, but sometimes my parents would take me out to celebrate, or my mom would make my favorite meal. They showed me they were proud of me but still never paid me. Well, I guess at graduation they kinda did, but not in cash. I got a beautiful pearl and diamond ring. It was the most beautiful ring I had ever seen. I still wear it a lot. It means so much to me, because my mom said my dad acutally picked it out.

What am I happy about now??? Well 2 things actually. 1) getting to post again here. YIPPPPEEEEE lol and 2) (This is the most important one too!!!) Robbie got a progress report from school on Thursday. His grades were terrific.
Mommy has to brag a bit. lol

Reading.............................98
Math.................................96
Language Arts/ Spelling........98
Science............................100
Social Studies......................98

I know for the non-Americans these don't mean much. but they are all A+, excellent! 100 is the highest grade you can get. So, I was very pleased.

No, I did not pay him.

Mellie

I hope he is learning problem solving methods and not just rote memory to go along with his good study habits. Memorizing facts can only carry one so far, but being able to apply those facts in many different venues will hold one in good stead for a lifetime. Teacher Smilie
Wow Big Smile Smilie Smart kid you got there Mellie! Those grades show you have worked hard to give him a good education.
Well done robbie!

No Grondy I think you Americans actually have a good education system, it's us Brit's who have a system that is based on memorisation. I saw an excellent program on channel4 the other day. Modern day GCSE pupils went to a 50's school and did a test with long division and multiplication in it. Out of 50 only 7 passed and only one got full marks. They thought it was a GCSE paper, it was the 11+. They claimed that they didn't get taught long division/multiplication. I only left high school 5 years ago and primary school 10 years ago, but in both of these schools we were taught the methods of mathematics, we also weren't allowed to use calculators until the last year of primary school. So it just leaves one question, what the Utumo has happened to the old curriculum? Teacher Smilie
This still doesn't change the fact that I can't spell Dunce Smilie

I remeber when I passed all my GCSE's all I got from my dad was, "You see, if you actually revised and did your course work, you could have got all A's!" My answer to him "B*gg*r off!" maybe that explains why he tried to allow the teachers to hit me!
