I seem to remember that's what Treebeard said he would have done to the hobbits if he hadn't heard their voices first. I'm sure that sort of deed also occured someplace in the hobbits' description of the 'Battle of Isengard' in the chapter of TTT titled 'Flotsam and Jetsam'.
