To Ross: If you haven't already bought the Ring, then don't! It is one the worst thriller/horror movies I have ever seen, it's not scary at all.

What?? It scared the **** out of me, I couldn't sleep for nights after I'd seen it!!
Another scary movie is The Gift. *shudders* I've always liked those movies with ghosts and when you don't really see what happens but have your own imagination playing with you. My imagination makes the worst horrormovies, believe me!
When it comes to action there is only one movie that rules the rest... Boondock Saints. Nothing beats it.
Science Fiction: gotta say the Arkiv X movies. Talk about special effects!

General movies: Pirates of the Caribbean!

Humour: Nothing will ever beat Monty Python. Just one comment: "My brain huuuurtss" ok, so it's from the MPFC, but it still counts

You have made a wise decision Ross! Ok i'll take your word on it as you had simular films to my taste's in your list

Aire; I agree with you on MP, they make me laugh, not always, but I like them. And do be careful when you watch horrormovies, you might hurt yourself

Oh, I'm more worried about the ghosts in the movies hurting me.

You should watch The Others with Nicole Kidman. That was a good creepy movie.I've always liked those movies with ghosts and when you don't really see what happens but have your own imagination playing with you.
I have to watch Silence of the Lambs
"Hello Clarisse..."
"Hello Clarisse..."

AHHH!!! ’runs and hides in terror’ I think I threw up in one part of that movie, either that or one of the other movies of that trilogy thing

Don't do it Delidia!!It's horrible(from what I've watched)..

*sighs* It can't be that bad.
Plus, me and Farfenhooger are going to watch it together, so we can be scared together!

Lol. Ever seen Hannibal? Thats the second one.

LotR (more FotR ext. than TTT), Monty Python, Jurassic Park, Star Wars, Matrix, Indiana Jones, etc.
This made me laugh because when I was younger (about 6 or 7 years ago? I always saw the Dark Crystal. Everytime my family went to the public library, we had to rent it.
And Silence of the Lambs? I'd like to see it but... my parents are still a little strict. I read all 3 books though.
They were... gory/funny/captivating. But this isn't a book thread. (IS there a book thread?
)

Yah, Schindler`s List is quite sad,it is one of my favorite movies, very well done and so is Shawshank Redemption.
And then there is Ran ,a version of Shakespeare's "King Lear" set in feudal Japan where aging ruler, Lord Hidetora, unleashes a power struggle amongst his three sons, possably one of the saddest movies I have watched,I give it 4/4 stars.

my favorite movies must be "the chronicles of Riddick" and the I-II-III LOTR movies

Before I say anything else... I have to say- Everyone, look at the year date of your post. All of you but for Gash, for some reason you are fine. The rest of you are really old!
Anyway, my favorite movies... hmm. LOTR, of course, though I have to view them as seperate from the books- I am angry at what they did to Faramir... The original Star Wars, the new ones are ok too, but more eye candy than even the first ones. Signs, Phenomenon is really good, I tend to lean towards the thinker movies. Star Trek: First Contact. I must admit (don't hurt me!) I am a minor Trekkie.

The reason the pre-G’sh posts say they were made in 1970 is because when the old posts were transfered here from the old forum at the beginning of 2004, all the dates were lost as were many of the first posts in each thread. Taz could never figure out how to get those dates back. Many of we CM's were able to cut and paste the first posts back into many of those threads, but not all of them.
