I've always thought of Eru as slightly selfish in the books - he is perfectly capable and willing to alter the course of events in Arda, as shown when he sinks the Numenoreans' isle because they did not revere him and the Valar enough, but seems content to stand by while many suffered and died in the wars against Morgoth and Sauron. I've always respected Ulmo the most out of the Valar, as he did the most to help.

Yes agreed Lee Lee and certainly Sauron could not see and or understand goodness and selflessness,  These aspects of the Children of Eru simply could not be understood by Sauron or Melkor for that matter in the same way that Manwe had no concept of evil.  Ultimately this is what bought the dark lords undone...

And you wonder why I love you! Honestly you seem the sort of person that could be in a crowd with eighty orcs and still say something so intelligent and sweet and informative and not bat an eyelash at all the nutty nut things going around you. amazing. indecision

Thank you Dearest Lee Lee and I hope all is well in your life.

Eru is a kind of god or Almighty. When he created the Valar he put something of him in them so both Manwe and Melkor too were a part of him. It's like that thing of without darkness there couldn't exist light. I don't know how to explain myself with the right words...

Umm.. Eru was Everything (good & evil) and the Valar and Valiers were his creation, as his creation they all have a part of him (character, thoughts, feelings, etc.)
