Anatea, i don't know any other sites, so i spent a couple hours looking up the meaning of your name (IF your name is Anatea) and translating it into Quenya. The Quenya name for Anatea is Amavali’, the Sindarin name is Ambalane. Sorry to keep you waiting!! Cool Smilie

Well it is actually Vibeke, but close enough.
But i allready knew this, translated it myself almost a year ago. But I chose Amari’ because I wanted a more peacefull elven-name than War.. Dead Smilie Sindarin Aut’ sounds better then Oht’. And Authiel even better.

Anatea, your real name does have a meaning, and the translation for that is Mirim’. It means free. Big Smile Smilie Also, 2 evryone else, i fixed the link again ; it was .html, not .htm :sigh: there was a url typo 2... (oops)

I too have a brother named for the clan of my maternal grandmother, as is his son, Cameron. Are you descended from the Camerons of Lochiel, Grondy?

My elvish name seems to be come out different on differnet sites. I like Helkadawaen the best, I think.

I don't know Nell, my grandmother and all her sisters died before I was mature enough to think of asking. My mother just knew her maternal grandfather Cameron came from Illinois sometime after our Civil War. Her paternal grandparents came from Missouri via a covered wagon over the Oregon Trail. My paternal grandparents came from somewhere in the Austria-Hungarian Empire in the 1880's, but I only know our name is Czech, they died before I was born, I know nothing about their parents.

I just found out that my real name means "little girl" or "enclosure for fish" Oh the horror!!! Shocked Elf Smilie Why can't my name mean something normal?!

But honestly, who in their right mind would want to name a child "enclosure for fish"? (not that "little girl" isn't bad enough...)
