140 bucks for a piece of wood? I rather go searching for one in the forest. That one's free at least.

I have one made from the root of a Douglas Fir tree that I found on the beach as driftwood near the Olympic National Park about thirty years ago. It is quite twisted and I never stained or oiled it; I just scrapeed the covering off and lightly sanded it. The best staves are the ones you gather and form for yourself.
