Galadriel blushed scarlet

"Well, no. Not that exactly," she stammered, "But I am preggers again."

Celeborn looked hopeful.

"Can I have a boy this time? Elladan and Elrohir are cute but I want one of my very own!"

Elladan and Elrohir assumed hurt expressions.

Galadriel regarded Celeborn measuringly before she replied...
"Do you remember those lingon-berry filled pastries that old Celia used to make, back in Menrgroth before the flood," reminisced Elrond?

"Can't say as I do," returned Galadriel, "but I remember she threw together a nice wholesome green salad. And it wasn't so much a flood, as a subsidence."

"Well, it was enough that we all got our feet wet," replied Elrond. "I didn't care for the dressing she used on her salad, for one thing, too much mustard."

"Oh, I don't know," said Galadriel, " I rather liked it. You know what I'm going to miss when we finally sail West?

"No, What." queried Elrond?

"Those little thingies with the holes, you know, the yellow ones," stated Galadriel questioningly.

Elrond replied, ...
"What, the golf courses?" he asked with a hint of surprise, "I didn't realise you played."

Galadriel shook her head with a frown. "No, silly," she replied, "the ......
"...sweet cake-y things. With icing. Donuts. I am really going to miss donuts. Especially those ones the dwarves make. I dont know what they put in them..."

Whereupon, Elrond sighed.

"I am going to miss dwarves. Interesting little creatures, did I ever tell you about the time..."

"YES!" Celeborn, Elladan, Elrohir, Gandalf, Assorted Other Elves, The horses, Elrond's Dog "Sparky" and A Traveller Who Happened to Be Passing all cried together.

Elrond, caught in mid-waffle-on was dumbfounded. He then decided to sulk for the rest of the evening.

Galadriel resumed her knitting of baby clothes.

"Whats that for luv?" asked Celeborn innocently. "For Arwen already? Give the lass a chance!"

"Well, no actually, there is something I haven't told you..."
Galadriel hesitated for a second and Celeborn asked
"What?"

Galadriel, not too happy with having to say what she has to say tries to avoid the subject
"Oh, it's nothing, really!"

"I can see in your eyes that there is something of great importance you're hiding", Celeborn replies.

"Well, there's something I've done, that... that, maybe I shouldn't have done.",
Galadriel says and continues
"I was out doing nothing when this guy came by. He asked me if I wanted hrm... some of his... and I just said yes".

Celeborn realizes the abyss he stands infront of and exclaimes "What, some of his what!?".

Galadriel responds, "Some of his Chinese crested powder puff with wailcoat dogs"

'Oh,' cried Celeborn in relief, 'I thought you were going to say something about my becoming daddy to a half-dwarf. You weren't, were you?'
"I don't think you'd be a good father for a boy, really. I mean, look at yourself! Do you look like a father? I guess not..."

Celeborn looked down. The words had hurt him, but he didn't want to show it. And then Elrond stood up for him, saying...
(oh this is too easy)

"....my Pop. Did I ever mention that my father took off on me when I was only a baby? Yes, alright, alright, he was saving the world and all that, but what about me? And my brother? And then my mother goes and jumps off a cliff...!"

"I say!" interrupted Gandalf. "Does anyone fancy a hot chocolate? I make a really good brew you know." He shoved a cocoa scented mug into Elrond's hands, knowing the half-elf's weakness for chocolate in spite of the fact that it hadn't been invented yet.

Elrond sipped his chocolate in silence - to everyone's immense relief.

But at that moment, who should come shooting out of the sky but...
