Hey there,
I recently watched LOTR for the first time, and omg! I've always dabbled in a bit of fantasy, i'm a keen EverQuest 2 player, but LOTR just blew me away, i've lost count of the amount of times i've watched it in the past month, and on occasions i've lost sleep over thinking about it.
The locations, the people, the story, the fantasy, so epic, deep and lifelike!
I look forward to my membership of planet-tolkien!

Welcome and well met Legolas! You're named after one of my favorite characters from the books. You really must read the books as it will greatly enrich the movies and fill in lots of details about why certain things happened as they did. Be prepared though, the movie put in a few items that are not present in the books. I'll let you read them to find out the answer to that one! Welcome! Yes, as everyone else has said, you must read the books... the Silmarillion as well... it sounds imposing, but I just read it and it is really awseome!!! So be sure to read that too!
